Do trees have thoughts?

In the cracks of the stone wall, branches and leaves growing from the cracks in the bricks are hanging on the wall. When a group of foreigners "surrendered" and took photos at the ancient ruins under the lintel of the Song City Wall, I quietly meditated to the corner alone: ??if you press the grass with stones, the grass will grow. Isn't this a portrayal of the perseverance of a nation? !

The host has arranged to see all the scenic spots in one day, and Yuejiang Tower is a must. Sure enough, when I climbed up and looked down, I saw the Xijiang River flowing through the mist and rain. This was originally Songtai Academy, a place for literati to study and a place where officials often visited. Later it became the naval command post and Yuejiang Platform of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The masts are towering and the cannons are opened. Looking at the historical photos, you can feel the past and present with emotion. The headquarters of the Ye Ting Independent Regiment of the Northern Expeditionary Iron Army was also located here. The war has long passed, but the smoke is still lingering. Although the stay was short, taking a look and thinking about it at Yuejiang Tower was already well worth the trip.

What triggered my thinking was the thousand-year-old bodhi tree in front of Mei'an. Because Bodhi is also called the Tree of Thought. It likes a warm, hot and rainy climate. Regardless of its species, it can resist pollution and grow quickly, which shows its extraordinary determination. I don’t really like taking pictures, so I decided to take a photo with Bodhi. However, this matter is not about climbing a dragon and clinging to a phoenix. Trees lasting thousands of years and people living a hundred years are still unattainable. How can they be compared? ! However, even though I am small, I still have a lump in my chest waiting to be vomited.

There is also a "wishing tree" on Mei'an Gang. Covered by lush green leaves, they are suddenly covered with red ribbons. Looking from a distance, the clusters are as bright as fire and extremely beautiful. When my friend asked me what I wished for, I couldn't help but laugh: my wish was too big and I didn't dare to ask for it.

I am amazed at the intactness of the Song Dynasty city wall. Shanghai also has one, but not many of it exist. On March 5, 1998, a 150-meter section of old city wall was discovered in the northwest of Jiading City. I heard the news and rushed to break the news. On March 24, the photographer and I went to the southern moat of Jiading City again. Accompanied by local retired cadre Yao Xucen, we explored another section of the ancient city wall hidden behind the houses.

While patrolling the Yuejiang Building, my colleague from the Xijiang News told me with emotion that many old buildings next to the building had been demolished. Many years ago, a professor from Tongji University went there several times at his own expense. During the inspection, he called for the protection of historical and cultural buildings. When he talked about the emotional points, he burst into tears, so that he was regarded as a "madman".

Oh, if I want to make a wish, I hope that the old building on Zhengdong Road can accompany Yuejiang Tower to spend his "twilight years". Similarly, I also hope that many historical and cultural relics in Jiading can have a good ending. In the protection of cultural relics, in addition to individual items, we must also consider the overall atmosphere, which may require some sacrifices of immediate interests.

In front of Prince Teng’s Pavilion, there are many newly built houses; downstairs in Yueyang, there are many crises. Why? People "always replace old talismans with new ones"? !

Fortunately, Zhaoqing has realized that all historical sites and places of interest are money. The Xijiang River flows, no longer whimpering, but now it should be running happily and gurgling with sound.

The most beautiful scenery is Dinghu Mountain. It's all nonsense to talk about it, and it's futile to write about it. It's just a "natural oxygen bar" that can be praised and praised. Walking on the mountain, the wet water that comes from nowhere can wash your lungs, clear your fire, and improve your eyesight. There are so many beauties and scenery everywhere, but it is easy to forget. Only the small-leafed banyan tree on the mountain made me stop and think. When its branches touch the ground, they become pillars, spread out, and then wrap around nearby trees. Then they suck out the nutrients of the earth and cause the attached tree to wither. In the plant world, this is known as "forest strangulation." In fact, this phenomenon also exists in human society. Sadly, the perpetrators do not take it seriously.

The present is connected with the past, and history cannot be violated at will. Fortunately, people are now gradually realizing that "destructive construction" is obviously not advisable. In today's world, building a tall building is as easy as building blocks. Only monuments, if lost, are lost forever.

It does not matter whether the bodhi tree can think, but human thinking is indispensable.
