The advantage of using OLT equipment to build PON network is that it realizes the "three networks in one" of internet access, telephone and TV, and does not need to consider three wiring systems separately. Traditional Ethernet networking mode

In the traditional Ethernet networking, the core layer, convergence layer (which can be omitted) and access layer are mostly used, and the transmission medium is twisted pair. The core switch is placed in the computer room to complete the high-speed forwarding of data, and the access switch is placed on the floor to complete the access of user terminals.

For hotel and other application scenarios, we should consider the needs of wired telephone and IPTV TV, so the hotel should also consider three sets of wiring systems, namely network wiring, TV wiring and telephone wiring.

Pol network based on passive optical network

Passive optical network based on PON uses optical fiber as transmission medium, which is similar to the optical fiber used in our home. The local OLT equipment is connected to broadband network, telephone network and IPTV network, and connected to the user ONU equipment through the optical splitter of 1:32. Connect Internet signal, telephone signal and IPTV through ONU equipment.

At present, there are two standards for PON networks, EPON and GPON. Relatively speaking, GPON has greater development potential and higher capacity, so GPON mode can be considered. PON network carries a variety of services, such as monitoring, broadband, television, wireless WiFi, telephone and so on. , which simplifies the network structure and reduces the maintenance cost.
