Latour 1990 was selected as Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year in 1993.

At a wine tasting held at the Halekulani Hotel in 2000, it ranked fourth among the 17 wines entered, just behind the top three.

At the 2004 Berlin Wine Tasting, it ranked sixth among the 10 wines participating.

At the 2006 Tokyo Wine Tasting, it ranked first among the 10 participating wines.
