That's called solid alcohol, which is made by distilling glacial acetic acid solution into water with (1) to make a 30% solution. Then slowly add the solution to calcium carbonate until bubbles are no longer generated. (2) transferring the obtained solution into an evaporating dish and evaporating on a water bath to prepare a saturated solution. (3) slowly adding ethanol into the saturated solution under stirring. Note: alcohol will boil violently at first, so it needs to be poured slowly. (4) cooling the solution to obtain solid alcohol.

Principle: Calcium acetate is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. When the aqueous solution of calcium acetate is mixed with alcohol, calcium acetate forms a gel in alcohol. In this process, the colloidal solution gradually thickens and finally condenses into a whole block, and the so-called solid alcohol is obtained (alcohol is used as a dispersant of the gel, but it is not a real solid). Calcium acetate solution can be prepared from acetic acid solution and calcium carbonate, and the reaction equation is:

CaCO3+2HAC=Ca(AC)2+CO2+H2O, and HAC stands for acetic acid.
