Can I open the books in the hotel and read them?

Yes. Books in the hotel can be opened and read, but they cannot be damaged or taken away. Larger hotels with good facilities are hotels. Before the reform and opening up, hotels and inns in the mainland were mostly named after hotels (mostly state-owned and operated). Most of the hotels in mainland cities called "XX Hotel" were built after the reform and opening up.
