The earliest time slippers appeared

Records of slippers in the literature of the Southern and Northern Dynasties

Most of the original slippers were made of wood. Wooden slippers were also called "clogs", "Zhulabaner" or "Guadaban" Son". "Guada board" is generally made of hard wooden boards, and canvas straps, leather straps or plastic straps are often used as foot loops. It will make a "croak, croak" sound when walking. With the development of the times and the fact that they are not very comfortable to wear, these clogs are no longer seen in urban households. According to Dongfang Shuo's "Suoyu": "In the Spring and Autumn Period, when Jie Jie was pushed to hide from his salary, he hugged a tree and died. Duke Wen sighed and caressed the tree, so he thought he was clogs." It can be seen that the "slippers" originally recorded in history books were just out of respect for the deceased. The condolences have nothing to do with leisure. "Guadaban'er" was first popular in the Southern and Northern Dynasties of my country. Xie Lingyun once modified it, so it is also called "Xie Gongban'er". Li Bai's "Sleepwalking Tianmu Yin Liu Farewell" has a sentence: "Wearing Xie Gong's clogs on our feet, we climb the Qingyun Staircase", which refers to this kind of wooden clogs. The passionate young man Jia Baoyu in "A Dream of Red Mansions" often wears this kind of wooden slippers. As for how clogs spread among the people and traveled across the ocean to Japan, it is unclear. From the perspective of common people, some unofficial historians say that clogs are "used everywhere when it rains, including the Fujian people. The Cantonese people wear them regardless of rain or shine, regardless of gender." By the time of the Qing Dynasty, "during the reigns of Guangxu and Xuantong, men and women in Shanghai were always fond of dancing in the summer." This was already a modern thing.

The first pair of plastic "slippers"

The first pair of plastic "slippers" came out in France in the 1950s. Our country also produced plastic slippers in 1960. To this day, plastic foam is the main material for making slippers. At the same time, "plastic slippers" and "PVC slippers" were also launched. During the peak development period, "EVA slippers", "rubber slippers", "straw slippers", "cloth slippers" and so on appeared. In recent years, plush slippers, indoor slippers, hotel slippers, disposable slippers, massage slippers, fashion slippers, etc. have been launched. Now we have developed "floor-wiping slippers", "inflatable slippers" and so on. In recent years, driven by the advocating for nature and environmental protection, slippers made of natural materials such as leather, wood, bamboo, and wheat straw have become popular in our country. Today's slippers are more characterized by coolness, health care, safety and fashion, and concepts such as air-conditioning slippers, bath slippers, beach slippers, health care slippers, fashion slippers, and bedroom slippers have emerged. These various and colorful slippers are like leisurely, elegant and unrestrained leisure scenery, creating a romantic and passionate summer mood.
