Misunderstanding of buying range hoods
Myth 1: Double motors are better than single motors.
There are three major factors that determine the suction of the range hood, one is the type and performance of the motor used in the range hood, the other is the cross-sectional area of the fan blades of the range hood, and the third is the air duct structure of the range hood. For a range hood with only one air outlet pipe, as long as the motor performance is good, a single motor is better than a double motor. There is a simple reason. First of all, it is difficult for two motors of dual motors to run synchronously. Secondly, when the oil fume from two fans is discharged to the same air outlet pipe, the turbulence and pressure between them will be offset, which will greatly reduce the oil fume discharge effect. Because of this, the range hoods of middle and high-grade brands on the market all adopt single motor structure.
As a kind of motor, single-phase asynchronous motor is certainly better than range hood motor. From the perspective of market application, the motors of household range hoods are basically single-phase asynchronous motors and range hood-level motors in AC asynchronous motors. Single-phase asynchronous motor is composed of stator, rotor, bearing, casing and end cover. Because the sealed shell protects the interior of the motor, it can better adapt to the working environment of the range hood, and it is the mainstream motor in the range hood market. The shaded pole motor is the simplest one of unidirectional AC motors, and usually adopts cage-type chute cast aluminum rotor without shell. Although the technology of hood pole motor is backward, it is small in size and low in price, so it is still adopted by some low-end range hood products. For example, many range hoods with built-in motors and thin fuselage use hood-level motors.
Myth 2: Built-in motor is better than external motor.
Due to the limitation of kitchen space, it is often required that the size of the range hood is relatively small and the body is relatively thin. Pull-out range hood with hood motor was once sought after by the market because the hood motor and blades were hidden in the box, with simple appearance and thin body requirements. However, with the test of time, the problems of range hoods with built-in range hood-level motors have been gradually discovered by everyone, especially in places with poor kitchen lampblack environment, such as our cooking in China. Because the motor of the range hood has no shell to protect the motor coil, the insulating protective layer of the motor of the range hood is easy to be damaged by the lampblack, which leads to the burning of the motor and even the electrification of the surface of the range hood, endangering personal safety. European mainstream kitchen appliance manufacturers, such as Hermite, Siemens and AEG, have completely stopped producing pull-out range hoods with built-in hood-level motors, and fully adopted single-phase asynchronous motors to produce pull-out range hoods. Irmiter (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. also introduced the second generation ultra-thin range hood, with automatic suction adjustment and external motor casing. It not only solves the trouble of left and right switch control of the first generation range hood, but also solves the safety problem of the motor, which is very popular in the market.
Myth 3: The greater the nominal power, the greater the suction of the range hood.
According to China's household appliances standards, the nominal power of range hoods is standardized, that is to say, the power marked by manufacturers on products can only be greater than or equal to the power of actual products. For example, the actual power of a range hood is only 100 W. The power can be marked as100 W, 1 10w, or it can be nominally 200W, etc. It is precisely because the power of the range hood is nominally marked, many unscrupulous merchants take advantage of this and deliberately exaggerate the power of their products, which makes it difficult for consumers to know the actual power of the products according to the labels on the product nameplate. In fact, the method for consumers to quickly identify the actual power of products can only be tested by electricity, but not by looking at the power label of products.
