Night shift in the peak season, I remember one night, it has been raining lightly. Although it is already spring, it is still chilly at night. One night, the guests kept calling and said they wanted to add quilts. On the night shift, a person added nearly a dozen quilts and put them inside, which was exhausting.

During the Canton Fair, most hotels will overbook because the room profit is very high. The so-called overbooking means increasing the number of reservations appropriately when the reservation is full. Overbooking can effectively reduce the "waste" of rooms (waste refers to products that were originally needed but not sold) and increase the income of hotels. But there are also some risks. Once all the booked guests arrive at the hotel, the hotel will face an embarrassing situation, so it is very important to determine the degree of overbooking. Theoretically, the best oversubscription point is when the marginal revenue of accepting extra reservations equals the marginal cost. Stop booking when you reach the best oversubscription point. When calculating the oversubscription cost, besides some tangible economic costs, we should also fully consider some intangible costs.
