From Kangding to Litang (1)-Over Zheduo Mountain

Leaving Luding, I soon arrived in Kangding. Kangding is built in a ravine, which is foggy. It doesn't look very big, but it looks like a fairyland. It's getting dark, and I've started to enter Tibetan areas. I'm still a little uneasy, so I'll find a place to live quickly. I just saw a sign of "Armed Police Hotel" and stopped to go in. The hotel is small, the room is neat, there is hot water and WIFI, so I decided to stay here. I received a sister in her forties, quickly arranged a room, and then went out to have some dinner in the street. Just about to go out, a young man of about 30 years old walked into the hotel. He is not tall and very capable. When he saw that we wanted to go out, he started screaming. He introduced himself as the younger brother of that sister just now, working in Kangding Public Security Bureau, and the unit is not far ahead. This explains why it is called Armed Police Hotel. The young man is very enthusiastic. He works in the Public Security Bureau and often runs outside. He will go to Ganzi Prefecture tomorrow, so he asked him if Kangding is safe and convenient to go to Daocheng. "Ganzi Prefecture is very safe now, and the road conditions to Aden are also very good. Most of them are asphalt roads, with some gravel roads in the middle. I usually drive an Audi, and you drive a Toyota overbearing SUV. There's definitely no problem. I'm going to Ganzi tomorrow, but I'm going to take you for a while. " He said. Thinking that he is familiar with the road and has official duties, he must drive very fast. He is not familiar with the road and plays while walking. He didn't want to be in a hurry, so he smiled and declined.

Kangding is really not big. There are many rivers running through the city. The river is about ten meters wide, but the current is fast, rolling up huge waves and the thunder is deafening. I walked past a huge archway. There were many restaurants and shops on the archway, but it seemed that there were not many people. Walking into a restaurant, I don't remember what I ate in it except that there were not many kinds of food and the taste was not very good. When I left home, I was in ethnic minority areas, and I could eat hot food.

It may be the high altitude. It was in August, but it was cold at night. After dinner, I hurried back to the hotel.

All the way out of Kangding seems to be uphill, and soon Kangding City is already in the valley at the foot. Shortly after the trip, I saw a mountain in front of me. The yellow and white mountain road twists and turns, extending upward at an angle of nearly 60 degrees, hanging like a yellow and white ribbon on the green ridge. The bugs on the belt move up slowly and orderly. I don't know how long it took, but at the top of the mountain, there was a flat land, a Tibetan white tower and a wind horse flag floating in the wind-a standard Tibetan landscape. Zheduo Mountain is a branch of Daxue Mountain, with the highest peak at 4,962 meters above sea level and the mountain pass at 4,298 meters above sea level. The altitude difference with kangding city is1.800m (the altitude of kangding city is about 2560m). It is the first mountain pass that needs to be crossed to enter Tibetan areas on the Sichuan-Tibet line. To the east of Zheduo Mountain is the western Sichuan mountainous area, and to the west is the eastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, so it is called "the first pass of Kangba", which is not only an important geographical dividing line, but also a dividing line between Chinese and Tibetan cultures. After crossing Zheduo Mountain, it entered the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and officially entered the Kangba Tibetan area.

In Tibetan, "Zheduo" means bending. Its mountainous terrain is large, ravines are criss-crossing, valleys are dense, the roads crossing the mountains are steep and tortuous, and the road surface is narrow. Because the mountain pass of Zheduo Mountain is 4298 meters above sea level, the top of the mountain is covered with snow all the year round, and because the Zheduo Mountain area is wet and watery, roads often collapse in rainy season and are often covered with snow in winter. The locals call it "Erlang Mountain, which is scary."

I don't know if it's my courage, my luck, or the timing, or it's not as dangerous as I said. Unconsciously, I arrived at the first pass of Kangba, the famous mountain pass. There is a small flat land on the mountain pass. More than a dozen cars are parked in the open space. A group of people are taking pictures at the gate. There is fog on the top of the mountain and the light is not very good. I stopped the car, took a photo, and started down the hill.

The SUV circled in the mountains and suddenly the air became clear. In the distance, a row of hills stands on the top of the mountain, as if in the air. Is this the Gongga Snow Mountain in Mountain King?

In fact, what I saw was much more magnificent and dreamy than the picture, but unfortunately, the technology was too poor and I didn't feel a shock in the picture. This is a high mountain with an altitude of more than 4 thousand meters.
