The reporter first came to the training class organized by Shandong Nutrition Society. Teacher Ruan of the club told the reporter that their training time is 306 hours, that is, two months off-duty. After passing the exam, you can get two certificates. The reporter saw that one is the "Public Nutritionist Training Certificate", and the issuing units are the Talent Training Center of the Ministry of Health and the Nutrition Society of China; The other is the Professional Level Certificate of Nutritionist issued by China Nutrition Society.

In Jinan Dida Vocational Training School, the enrollment advertisement shows that the training of "registered dietitian" lasts for half a month. After passing the examination, you can get the Registered Dietitian Qualification Certificate or the National Dietitian Qualification Certificate of the Ministry of Labor. The reporter saw in the school that the certificate issued by the Ministry of Labor mentioned in the enrollment advertisement was stamped with the official seal of "National Vocational Qualification Training and Appraisal Experimental Base", while the registered dietitian certificate was issued by the International Nutrition Society, and most of the certificates were in English letters. The staff said: "Experimental Base" is a unit under the Ministry of Labor. After passing the exam, only one of the two certificates can be tested. If you want to take both certificates, you need to pay another thousand yuan. If you fail in the exam, you can continue studying for free.

In fact, the training courses for nutritionists are far more than that. The reporter consulted. At present, most vocational schools and training centers in the society have training courses for nutritionists, such as nutritionists, public nutritionists, registered nutritionists, nutrition health care workers, nutrition consultants and nutrition caterers, and the certificates issued are even more varied.

"Before signing up for training, the advertisement said that when the national nutrition regulations came out, many industries had to be equipped with nutritionists, and the employment prospects were very optimistic. But I found a job with a certificate, and kindergartens, apartments for the elderly and hospitals all said no. In the end, I can only be a waiter in the hotel. According to MISS ZHOU, more than 30 people in her group have received training, and their experiences are similar to hers.

The reporter contacted a number of hotels in Jinan. Except for a few hotels equipped with nutritionists and nutrition caterers, most hotels said "no, no need". Some hotel staff think that "these jobs can be done by chefs", while others answer: "If it is stipulated that it must be equipped in the future, we can train our own staff." The reporter also contacted a number of kindergartens, elderly apartments and hospital canteens, and most units answered "no".

In some large hotels equipped with nutritionists, how much role did nutritionists play? In a large hotel in the south of Jinan, many waiters handed in business cards with the titles of "nutritionist" or "national nutrition caterer", which surprised the guests. However, the reporter did not see any nutritionist giving any guidance during the process of ordering and eating. I heard that there are more than 60 nutritionists here, and several guests who often go to the hotel to eat shake their heads and say that they have never seen a nutritionist. Xu Guifa, a professor at the School of Public Health of Shandong University and director of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Hygiene of Shanda University, told reporters: On weekdays, people are used to calling nutrition experts nutritionists. In Shandong Nutrition Society, Mr. Ruan showed the reporter a notice of the 2007 public dietitian experimental appraisal examination, which read: On July 22nd, 2007, according to the opinions of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Administration of the Ministry of Labor, the public dietitian experimental appraisal examination was organized in Beijing. Teacher Ruan said that at present, public nutritionists are only in the experimental stage. How can there be so many nutritionists?

Shandong Vocational Skills Appraisal Administration said that up to now, our province has not received the specific standards and teaching materials recognized by nutritionists, and the existing nutritionist certificates in the society are issued by industries, associations and enterprises.

Training can't be done overnight.

Professor Xu Guifa from the School of Public Health of Shandong University believes that nutrition is a deep subject with strong practicality, which is closely related to people's life and health, just like a doctor. A nutritionist should have the basic knowledge of medicine, biology, food industry and cooking, and have a certain degree, which can not be learned in ten days and a half. At present, the minimum education requirement for nutritionists in the United States is undergraduate, and many require master's degree or above.

Xu Guifa believes that there is no unit in the society to appraise the training course, so it is a bit chaotic. Nutrition is related to biological science and medicine, which is suitable for centralized training in the industry and easy to master superior resources. In the future, as the dietitian industry is gradually on the right track and accepted, the training will be gradually standardized.
