Yantai Penglai International Airport is located in Chaoshui Town, Penglai City, Yantai City, Shandong Province, China, about 43 kilometers away from the center of Yantai. It is a 4E-level civil transport airport, a national first-class aviation port, and a member of the East China Airport Group.
On May 28, 2015, Yantai Penglai International Airport was officially opened. The airport has built 16 new boarding bridges and a new terminal building of 96,000 square meters, which can meet the annual passenger throughput of 8 to 10 million. Yantai Penglai International Airport has a 3,400-meter-long runway, a flight area grade of 4E, 39 apron seats, 1,088 parking spaces, and a cargo station of 25,000 square meters. ?

Historical evolution of Yantai Penglai International Airport:
In June 1994, the State Council agreed to open the Yantai air passenger port. At the end of 2007, the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to start the construction of Yantai New International Airport. In May 2008, the preliminary site selection work for the new airport was completed; in June, the preparatory work for the new airport was officially launched.
On December 26, 2009, Yantai Chaoshui Airport held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new airport, marking the project's transition from preliminary preparations to full construction. On September 1, 2011, the Yantai Chaoshui Airport project officially started. In April 2014, the Civil Aviation Administration of China approved Yantai Chaoshui Airport to be officially named Yantai Penglai International Airport.
At around 10 a.m. on October 27, 2014, a C560 aircraft from Beijing successfully landed at Yantai Penglai International Airport, becoming the first aircraft to arrive at the airport. On November 28, 2014, the construction of Yantai Penglai International Airport was completed.
On November 11, 2014, the acceptance of the civil aviation professional project of Yantai Penglai International Airport was successfully concluded. On May 28, 2015, Yantai Laishan International Airport transferred to Yantai Penglai International Airport, and Yantai Penglai International Airport was officially opened.
