Winter is coming in the post-epidemic era, camping vacations will still be popular

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) released the latest version of the "North American Camping Report" at the end of October. It conducted multiple surveys on people who like self-driving leisure travel and found that even in winter It has arrived, and most people still want to go out for a walk, and this is also the safest way to travel during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The survey showed that travelers are actually more likely to travel in autumn and winter (42% of respondents) than in summer (21%). 51 campers are interested in purchasing an RV this fall.

21% of recreational travelers took a camping trip this summer and 42% still plan to take a camping trip in 2020, according to the American Camp Association’s fall data update for the annual North American Camping Report. The report, which surveyed 3,500 leisure travelers, was released in October, so cooler temperatures haven't put a damper on camping activity.

The number of people who believe camping is the safest type of travel has also increased significantly, with the September survey nearly 10 points higher than in May. Additionally, almost half of all people surveyed were taking a camping trip for the first time this year. KOA research found that having your own bathroom is important for leisure travelers aged 48, campers aged 42, and would-be campers aged 58. Likewise, 60% of average leisure travelers say they are now willing to go to less popular places to avoid crowds. 68 campers feel this way.

The growth in RV sales we have seen this year is likely to continue. KOA found that 51% of campers are now more likely to purchase an RV, similar to May, with 62% saying they are considering purchasing an RV. A big reason they are interested in RVing is because they are more concerned about the cleanliness of their hotel or resort. If you can avoid contact with more strangers, you reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. Another benefit of having your own RV is that when it gets dirty, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Looking forward, the American Camp Association estimates that 18 of these new camping enthusiasts in 2020 will continue to go to the wilderness in the next few years. For RV and tent campers, 44% said they were likely to camp again in the next few years.
