I took a taxi to Vientiane city. , I found that it is so quiet here, so quiet that I need to whisper softly to avoid destroying the original atmosphere. Laos has a weak industrial base. There is no roar of machines and no emissions of industrial waste gas. Laos is a typical Theravada Buddhist country in Southeast Asia. Most residents of Laos believe in Buddhism. About 80% of the Laotian population believes in Theravada Buddhism. French restaurants and European-style buildings can be seen everywhere in Luang Prabang, Kammun, Pakse and other provinces. Luang Prabang is the place with the best preservation of historical buildings in Southeast Asia. There are nearly 700 valuable ancient buildings in the province, and French Street has become an important tourist attraction in various cities.

Laos is a poor country. This mysterious country, I knew that Laos was very poor before I came. But the level of poverty in Laos was beyond my expectation. As a person born in the 1970s, I have never experienced such poverty and backwardness.

In some rural areas in northern Laos, there are still many children who drop out of school because they cannot pay the tuition fee of 50,000 kip (equivalent to RMB 40). Even if "outstanding" young people work in the city, the monthly salary in Vientiane, the capital, is only about 2 million (equivalent to RMB 1,600). This is not enough for young people to spend, so Laotians cannot save money at all, let alone Talk about helping the family.

Everyone says it is good, but let me tell you what is not so good. In Laos, it takes a day to take a boat from Huay Xay to Pak Binh. The consumption level in the two places is quite high. A meal with two small dishes and two beers costs 150-200 RMB, but the infrastructure is not much and it is quite similar to a village! It is the main waterway from Qingkong in Thailand to Luang Prabang in Laos! According to the consumption in Vientiane, the consumption here is 2-3 times the price in Vientiane! It’s twice as big as Luang Prabang! The city of Luang Prabang is relatively good, with simple urban architecture and the must-see Kuang Si Waterfall, which is beautiful!

The price of eating is a bit cheaper, but I ate Chinese Sichuan food, which tasted quite good. A meal of two dishes costs about 130,000! The price is around RMB 100! If you compare, the price in Beibin is definitely cheaper! However, there will be many places that charge twice as much as locals! Even more! This is not very good, it seems like Nha Trang, Vietnam! Besides, there are many foreigners in Wanrong Little Guilin, the largest number are Koreans, and there are also many Korean tour groups, so the consumption in Wanrong is also very high! The price of the riverside hotel I stayed at was not bad, more than 200 per night! But it’s worth it to see the scenery of Little Guilin. There are also many water sports. You can see speedboats and other things early in the morning. People are also making a lot of noise. This is not a characteristic of us Chinese, and it is the same in Korea! I didn’t play. I stayed in the hotel for two days. It was very hard to get to Vang Vieng by car. It takes 4-5 hours to go from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng in various road conditions. Vientiane is the quietest country I have ever visited. The real Vientiane may be different from what you think. I basically didn’t see many pedestrians on the streets of Vientiane.
