Gao Yanei took a fancy to Lin Niangzi, and once he failed to flirt, he thought about the second time. In order to make Gao Yanei happy and keep his future, Lu Qian abandoned his friendship with Lin Chong for many years. In fact, as the first prostitute in the world at that time, Li Shishi was also in Fan Lou, and he had a good relationship with Emperor Daojun.

Whether Lu Qian invited Lin Chong, Song Jiang, Chai Jin and others, they all chose Fan Lou to drink. Why Fan Lou? Does Fanlou really exist? What is its origin? Let's talk about this problem today.

First, Fan Lou's past lives.

Fan Lou in the Water Margin did exist in the Northern Song Dynasty, and it was the most prosperous and top entertainment place at that time-the capital Tokyo. Because of this, Lu Qian invited Lin Chong to have a drink in Fan Lou to show his respect. Song Jiang and others also choose Fan Lou. After all, it's a pity to have been to Tokyo once without enjoying it in Fan Lou.

1. When was Fan Lou built?

The current data is inconclusive, but at the latest, in Song Taizu, Fan Lou has appeared and become a lively place at that time. In the seventh year of Kaibao (AD 974), Zhao Kuangyin, Song Taizu once passed by Fan Lou to enjoy Fan Lou's acrobatics and operas.

First, the emperor went out and sat in a leisurely chariot to climb the mountain outside Mingde ... After Sun Shoubin's building, he stayed in the chariot less. I went to Baifanlou to watch zaju, and then I went to Donghuamen. -"Song Yaoyao's Draft"

The "Emperor" here refers to Zhao Kuangyin and Song Taizu, and "White Fan Lou" refers to Fan Lou. Because Fan Lou is also known as Fan Lou, Alum House, White Fan Lou and Fengle House. Having said that, let's talk about the origin of Fan Lou's name.

2. The origin of Fan Lou's name.

At first glance, it seems to be a restaurant run by a boss named Fan, but this is not the case. Fan Lou was originally a place where merchants sold alum in the Song Dynasty, so it was originally called "Alum House", but later it became a restaurant because more people gathered. In fact, this restaurant is not a restaurant, but people mistakenly think that its boss's surname is Fan, so it is misrepresented as. From Alum House to White Fan Lou, we see the name Fan Lou, which is actually such a changing process.

Because it is a rumor, it is different. In some scripts of the Song Dynasty, the boss's surname is "Fan". In Song Dynasty, Wu Zeng also made textual research on Fan Lou's name in his Notes on Changing to Zhai.

There is a restaurant outside Donghua Gate in Shi Jing. People call it Fan Lou, or think that the landlord's surname is not true. Here comes our businessman. After the restaurant. The real name is Alum House. -"Can change Zhai Manlu"

It can be seen that it is a pseudonym, not because the restaurant owner is surnamed Fan. It turned out to be a place where alum was sold. Wu once lived in the Song Dynasty, and his words are very credible. Wu Zeng also mentioned the location of Fan Lou, in Jingming Square outside Donghuamen. This is consistent with the "Imperial Imperial East Gate" mentioned in the Manuscripts of Song History, and it is also credible.

When Song Huizong was in office, Fan Lou was expanded and renamed Fengle Building. However, Fan Lou's name has long been deeply rooted in people's hearts, so many people are still used to calling it Fan Lou.

3. What does Fan Lou look like

What is Fan Lou really like? Before Song Huizong, it was very small, not much different from ordinary restaurants, but after the expansion of Song Huizong, Fan Lou suddenly changed dramatically.

First of all, Fan Lou is as high as three stories. It is not surprising that there are three floors today. Many people have three floors in their homes. However, the ancients were limited by technology and financial resources and basically did not build tall buildings. We can also find from the famous paintings such as The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, Fan Hui Scene in Du Nan, and Southern Tour Scene in Kangxi, which were generally two-story buildings at that time.

Not to mention ordinary people, even the palace has no three floors. So as long as you are on the third floor of Fan Lou West Building, you can see the palace. To this end, the emperor also stipulated that no one should climb to the west building to look out in the future. How can the Royal Forbidden Garden let ordinary people peek at it at will? However, Song Huizong later built the Genyue Imperial Garden, and once specially let people go to the West Building to see the scenery.

Secondly, the fifth floor of Fan Lou stands side by side. Fan Lou, which was expanded in Song Huizong, has become a building complex with five floors, east, west, north and south, with different heights and patchwork. There are flying bridges between buildings for people to come and go, not to mention the inside of the building. In short, every building is connected with the inside and outside, and guests can pass through it.

Below Fan Lou is the hall, and above it is the private room, which is called the "Pavilion". In the Water Margin, when Lu Qian tricked Lin Chong into Fan Lou, they also "occupied a cabinet". This design, like many hotels now, has a reasonable layout and can meet the needs of different guests to the greatest extent. In some folk books, it is also said that Song Renzong visited the second floor of Fan Lou incognito, and as a result, his fan fell behind and was picked up by Zhao Xu, the last talented person. Zhao Xu got to know Song Renzong and was later promoted to an official.
