Travel Guide to Popular Attractions in Xinzhou
I know this! I have been working and living in Xinzhou for three years. At that time, I traveled with my friends whenever I had free time. Now I will share the information on the top ten must-see attractions in Xinzhou with friends who need it~
1. Wutai Mountain Scenic Area-Dailuoding
Introduction
Dailuoding is a temple located east of the temple complex in the center of Taihuai Town. It is located on Dailuoding, a steep halfway ridge. It is a place dedicated to Manjusri. You can walk to Dailuoding or take the cableway. Generally, tourists will choose a step road called "Dazhi Road". There are 1080 steps along the way and the total length is about 500 meters. Believers believe that this is a road leading to wisdom, and everyone who walks on this road is... Be smart and increase your wisdom. Looking up from the bottom of the mountain, I saw another small mountain rising halfway up the towering mountain. The gate and archway of the temple on the top of the mountain are surrounded by trees, and are often shrouded in clouds and mist. The hill is shaped like a big snail. In midsummer, the vegetation is luxuriant and becomes a patch of dark blue. Therefore, the temple on the top of the mountain is named Big Luoding, also known as Dailuoding. The ancient temple is called Foding Temple.
The temple was built during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. There is also a large screw top inscription in the temple that was made in the 15th year of Qianlong (1750). Dailuoding has five statues of Manjushri Bodhisattva on the top of five platforms. Coming here is equivalent to going up to the top of five platforms and worshiping five Manjushri Bodhisattva at one time, so it is called "Little Chao Terrace". .

2. Wutai Mountain
Introduction
Wutai Mountain is located in Wutai County in northeastern Shanxi Province, with an average altitude of more than 1,000 meters. The highest point, Beitai Yemen Peak, is about 3,058 meters above sea level. It is known as the "Roof of North China" . Wutai Mountain has a radius of about 300 kilometers. Because the five peaks rise from the ground like five pillars, standing majestically, and the peaks are as flat as a platform, so it is named Wutai. Because the climate on the mountain is very cold and there is still no heat in midsummer, it is also called Qingliang Mountain. It is a tourist area that integrates natural scenery, historical relics, ancient architectural art, Buddhist culture, folk customs, and summer vacation.
Mount Wutai is a famous Buddhist resort both at home and abroad. It is the monastery of Manjushri Bodhisattva. And with its long history of building temples and grand scale, Mount Wutai ranks first among the four famous mountains in Buddhism - hence the Golden Five. Mount Wutai is also known as Mount Wutai, and together with Lumbini Garden in Nepal, Sarnath, Bodhgaya and Kushinagar in India, it is also known as the world's five major Buddhist holy places. It enjoys a high reputation in Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal and other countries. The temples in Mount Wutai were first built by Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, due to the prosperity of "Manjusri belief", there were more than 360 temples.
In the Qing Dynasty, with the introduction of Lamaism to Mount Wutai, the green and yellow temples with their own characteristics appeared. The area surrounded by the tops of the five platforms in Mount Wutai is called inside the platform, and its periphery is called outside the platform.
It is said that Wutai was originally the territory of Taoism. In the "Tao Jing", Wutai Mountain is called Zifu Mountain, and the Zifu Temple was once built. "Qingliang Mountain Chronicles" states that when the Buddhist Manjusri Bodhisattva first came to China, he lived in a stone basin cave, and the stone basin was in the Taoist Xuanzhen Temple. This shows that Mount Wutai was inhabited by Taoists at that time.
The introduction of Buddhism to Wutai Mountain is generally believed to have begun in the Eastern Han Dynasty. According to historical records, in December of the 10th year of Yongping (AD 67), the envoy sent by Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty to the Western Regions to seek Dharma came to Luoyang with two eminent Indian monks, She Moteng and Zhu Falan. In the eleventh year of Yongping, Shemo Teng and Zhu Falan came to Wutai Mountain (then called Qingliang Mountain) from Luoyang. Since there had been King Asoka's stupa in the mountain for a long time, and Mount Wutai was the place where Manjushri Bodhisattva taught and lived, they wanted to build a temple here. However, because Mount Wutai was a Taoist base at that time, they were quite marginalized. , so he informed Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty. In order to distinguish the merits of Buddhism and Taoism, the Han Dynasty asked monks and Taoists to perform, explain, and verify. Therefore, the two parties reached an agreement to burn scriptures on a scheduled basis to distinguish the authenticity (it is said that the burning location is at the scripture burning platform in today's Xi'an) . As a result of the scripture burning, all the Taoist scriptures were burned, but the Buddhist scriptures remained intact, so the two of them obtained the right to build the temple.

4. Wutai Mountain Scenic Area - Bodhisattva Peak
Introduction
The Bodhisattva stands on the Lingjiu Peak of Wutai Mountain. According to legend, it is the residence of Manjusri, so it is also called Zhenrongyuan and Wenshu Temple.
It was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty and rebuilt in successive dynasties. After the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, Mongolian and Tibetan believers settled in Mount Wutai, and the great lama lived on Bodhisattva Peak, so Bodhisattva Peak became the head of the Yellow Temple in Mount Wutai.
Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty paid several pilgrimages to Mount Wutai, stayed at Bodhisattva Peak, and wrote inscriptions. In the hall and backyard of the east courtyard, there are two white marble four-prism steles with Han inscriptions engraved on each side of the stele. The inscriptions written in four languages: Mongolian, Manchu and Tibetan, are all handwritten by Emperor Kangxi.
The most noteworthy thing in the backyard is the four large copper pots kept in the main room. The smallest diameter is nearly 2 meters, which is used for cooking porridge during important Buddhist ceremonies.
