Qingyang is a magical land with high sky and thick soil. Qingyang is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. As early as 200,000 years ago, human beings flourished here. Early agriculture began more than 7000 years ago. According to Records of the Historian, Huangdi, the ancestor of mankind, once discussed medicine with Qi Baishi, the originator of traditional Chinese medicine, and published Huangdi Neijing, hence the name "Huang Qi's hometown". Zhou Xianzu never led his people to "run between Rongdi (now Qingyang)", but together with his sons Ju Tao and Sun Gong Liu, he "taught the people to farm" and "cultivated well", which opened the precedent of farming culture in the early Zhou Dynasty. In history, it is said that "the prosperity of Zhou Dao began today". The majestic Zhou Zuling stands on the top of the Dongshan Mountain in Qingcheng, and the temple is magnificent. Qingyang has splendid ancient treasures. World-famous fossils of "pterosaur around the river" and "ancient elephant of the Yellow River" have been found in Ma Lian Valley. Qingyang is the only old revolutionary base area in Gansu. 1927, the first rural party organization in Gansu was established in Ning County; 193 1 year, Nanliang Guerrilla, the first revolutionary armed force in Gansu, was established; 1934, the first Soviet regime in the Shaanxi-Gansu border region was established. Shaanxi-Gansu border is the best-preserved revolutionary base that our party has never lost in the revolutionary war years. In 2004, our city stood out from 170 participating cities in the selection of famous western cities jointly organized by CCTV and CCTV International Network, and was rated as the most artistic western city. The Folk Craft Committee of China Arts and Crafts Society also named 48 folk artists such as He Meiying in Qingyang City as China folk artists; Gansu Folk Artists Association named 63 folk artists, including Ma Xiuzhen of Qingyang City, as folk artists in Gansu Province.
