Do private people have the right to check hotel surveillance?

Legal analysis: private people have no rights. Unauthorized surveillance violates the privacy rights of other passengers. If surveillance is needed, the public security organ must have the right to seize the surveillance video of the hotel in order to solve the case. Although the public security department has this power, there is no case of going to the hotel to collect surveillance videos at will.

Legal basis: Article 14 of the Measures for the Administration of Public Security in Hotel Industry is the duty of public security organs to guide and supervise hotels to establish various safety management systems and implement safety precautions, assist hotels to train their staff on safety business knowledge, and punish criminals who infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of hotels and passengers according to law.

When performing official duties in hotels, public security personnel should show their certificates, act in strict accordance with the law, treat people with civility and courtesy, and safeguard the normal operation of hotels and the legitimate rights and interests of passengers. Hotel staff and passengers should give assistance.
