Economics is a characteristic major in Guangdong Province. The Finance and Taxation Department was established in 1994. It is one of the earliest departments of finance and taxation in China, and it is also the first department to recruit undergraduate majors in finance and has the right to award a master's degree in finance in China. In 2005, the undergraduate major of finance in this department was awarded as a famous brand major in universities in Guangdong Province. In 2006, the finance major was granted the right to confer a doctorate; 20 10 was granted the right to grant a master's degree in taxation. Department of Economic Management, established in 1998, mainly undertakes the teaching and scientific research tasks of management discipline in Lingnan College, and offers many management courses for undergraduates, masters, doctors, MBA, EMBA and EDP students. Risk Management and Insurance Department Risk Management and Insurance Department was established in early 2003. It is the only higher education and scientific research base in South China that can simultaneously train undergraduate talents in insurance, master's and doctoral students in risk management and insurance, and postdoctoral researchers. The undergraduate major of logistics management in the Department of Logistics Engineering and Management was established in 2002. In 2003 and 2004, the college enrolled two top candidates in the college entrance examination in Guangdong Province. Since 2003, the average admission scores of six undergraduate majors in international economy and trade, economics, finance, logistics management, finance and insurance have been ranked in the top eight in Guangdong Province for ten consecutive years. The student training college pays attention to liberal arts education and general education, and the first and second grades of undergraduate majors are unified. Junior students can choose their major and direction again in the college according to their personal specialties, interests, ambitions and social needs, and study professional courses, some of which are taught in English.

In addition, the college also strives to open up foreign exchange channels and provide an open educational environment. Undergraduate students, ordinary graduate students and MBA students can sign up for overseas exchange programs in more than 40 universities in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and other countries and regions, and participate in various international and domestic competitions and exchange activities. Undergraduate students can also choose overseas study programs. In the 20 12 academic year,10 students have been sent to participate in exchange programs and overseas study programs to study and exchange in universities in North America, Europe, Australia and other places. The college also actively cooperates with eight universities in Canada, Britain and Australia to carry out undergraduate joint training programs (double-degree programs) to provide international through trains for students to pursue further studies.

The Institute cooperated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 1999 to set up an international MBA program, ranking first in the evaluation of the second batch of MBA programs in China in 20001year. The Sino-US EMBA program jointly launched by the Institute and the Carlson School of Management of the University of Minnesota won the first place in the "China's most influential Sino-foreign cooperation EMBA" for six times; The Sino-French MBA program jointly organized by the College, University of Lyon III and Lyon Business School is taught in French, attracting students from China, France and French-speaking countries and regions; In 2009 and 20 10, the EMBA of the College was ranked third and second respectively in the leading EMBA in China market.
