Walking through the north, south, west and east, the most familiar and favorite place is Huanren Mountain City in eastern Liaoning. Although it is my hometown, it is the place where my parents lived. I have no experience growing up here, and most of my familiarity with it comes from my parents’ stories. The history of this mountain is more like a magnet, attracting me firmly.

More than 2,000 years ago, Goguryeo established its founding capital on the top of this mountain. Build momentum based on the mountains, build walls and houses, give orders, and make fireworks flourish. There are still ruins of Shuijing city walls and houses from that time on the mountain, and various daily utensils can also be seen from time to time. In 2006, Wunv Mountain successfully applied for world material cultural heritage, and it became a business card of Huanren Mountain City.

Green mountains, clear waters, and natural oxygen. After retiring eight years ago, I made up my mind to settle here. The green trees and flowers in spring and the red leaves in autumn call again and again. Every time I have close contact with Wunv Mountain, pass through the mist lingering on the mountainside, and brush the drifting clouds above my head, there is always a kind of heroic feeling. When my heart was agitated and I couldn't express it, I remembered the great man's poem: "Thousands of years have passed since the past, and the whip has been wielded mightily."

Standing on the peaks and overlooking the foot of the mountain, the rippling Hunjiang River is connected with the green mountains. If it were not separated by the winding light brown waterfront, the mountains and rivers would almost merge into one. Surrounded by mountains, the Hunjiang River is calm and calm. The Hada River and the Hunjiang River merge into it and flow around it. The natural intersection of the water with different shades is like a yin and yang fish, forming a natural Tai Chi diagram.

During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, official Zhang Yue came to Huanren to serve as the first county magistrate. Zhang Yue's footprints have traveled all over the place where the Manchu Dynasty was founded. When he was surveying the mountain situation, he climbed to Wunv Mountain and was surprised to find the natural Tai Chi diagram formed by the water flow of the Hunjiang River. This gave him the inspiration to build a new city. With the idea of ??safeguarding the government and benefiting one party, he decided to build a new Bagua City in the anode of the Tai Chi diagram on the east bank of the Hunjiang River.

In history, Zhang Yue was a great figure. In today's Huanren Zhangyue Park, there is a full-length statue of him. The inscription below reads: Zhang Yue (1847-1913) was named You. Qiao, male, Han nationality. Daoguang was born in a scholarly family in Xiangfu, Henan in the 27th year of his life. Because of his beauty and talent, he was selected to be sent to the Imperial Academy in the capital. His outstanding academic performance attracted the admiration of many Confucian scholars, and he was promoted to the rank of supervisor. He is a man who despises money and bribes, is diligent in political affairs, understands the sentiments of the people, and enforces the law impartially.

Zhang Yue personally determined the Bagua position of the city. There are east gate, west gate and south gate in the city. The north gate tower is the same as the east, west and south gates, except that no gates are left and no moats are built for fear of blocking the incoming mountains.

Zhang Yue was familiar with traditional culture, so he planned the mountain city in this way: the city was made of Bagua to accept the winds from all directions; there were three gates in the city, and the three lights of the sun, moon and stars opened on the gate to cultivate the three talents of heaven, earth and people. Such a harmony between heaven, earth, and man corresponds to astronomy above and geography below, displaying the talents of human beings.

Zhang Yue worked hard and spent four years before a city similar in shape to the surrounding natural Tai Chi began to take shape. This was the only Tai Chi and Bagua city in the world at that time. It is said that after the Tai Chi Bagua City was built, the city of Huanren has always maintained prosperity.

When the Japanese invaders were trampling on the Northeast, a large number of people with lofty ideals gathered here to organize and resist. The Northeast Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is built in Huanren County. The weapons and daily necessities used by the anti-Japanese soldiers are displayed on display. There are also written and pictures that record the heroic deeds of the anti-Japanese soldiers in detail. Huanren is also a red city with a glorious revolutionary tradition.

Huanren Bagua City has been built for nearly 120 years. Although the old site of the ancient city has been built into roads or houses, its layout still maintains the Bagua shape, which can be seen in aerial photos The complete Bagua graphics and several unique diagonal alleys in the county are also products of Bagua City.

Bagua City is the monument that Zhang Yue set for himself, and it is also a microcosm of China's rich history and culture. Every time I walk in the city, my eyes will stop at those old buildings that still exist. Those gray-black brick walls are condensed from the wisdom and sweat of the ancestors. Perhaps they still continue the bloodline of more than a hundred years ago. In the dark, this old city is protected.
