What country is Micronesia?

Micronesia refers to the Federated States of Micronesia.

Micronesia (Federated States of) is a peaceful and leisurely country in Oceania. Its territory consists of more than 600 islands of different sizes, covering an area of about 722 square kilometers.

The most important islands include Chuk Island, Yap Island, Pohnpei Island and Cosray Island. These four independent islands have their own rich culture, history and charming scenery.

1979, the Federated States of Micronesia became an independent country with the English name of "Federation of Micronesia" (FSM for short), and established diplomatic relations with China in 1989.

The Federation is rich in tourism resources and is a famous diving resort. The unique culture and customs on the island are well maintained, but the tourism facilities in the federal state are backward. At present, there are only small hotels that receive sporadic individual travelers, and related tourism, tour guides, shopping, consumption and other supporting industries need further development and cooperation. China and Peru signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism in May 2008.
