Historical story of Xiu Xiu Pavilion in Xiushan, Tonghai
It was founded in the Five Dynasties and later extended to Dali (A.D. 1249).
The temple is dedicated to the monk Li Panfu.
Legend has it that Li went to Tonghai to be a monk. Because he saw the water of Tonghai Lake soaking in the fields, the people had a hard time getting crops. He dug a sinkhole to let the lake fall, and fertile fields appeared around the lake, and the people lived and worked in peace and contentment.
Later generations built a riverside public cinema in Xiushan to commemorate him.
In the "Tonghai County Records", a poet wrote a poem praising him: "When the flood rages, one side is worried and the outstanding water flows through the sea.
Before, if there were no monks to make a fortune, how could there be mountain beauty? "
There is a "Pangong Tower" with masonry structure in the temple.
There are natural sandstone rocks beside the tower, and spring water is stored in the middle recess, which drips day and night, so it is called "rich basin land on the shore".
Outside the temple, under the rock, there is the tomb of Banfu Hua Zuo, and there are stone carvings carved during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty.
Xiushan's architecture and the layout design of pavilions are unique.
There are eight pavilions in Xiushan: in the east of Deng Ying Bridge, there is a "rest pavilion" covered with towering old trees and covered with branches and leaves, which is very "delicious".
Visitors can talk in the exhibition hall.
