The Historical Evolution of Chongqing Library

1945 in may, the sixth national congress of the Kuomintang of China passed a bill to commemorate the achievements of American president Roosevelt who died in April of the same year 12 in fighting fascism and promoting world peace, and decided to establish the national Roosevelt library of the United States as a permanent memorial.

1946 In September, Chiang Kai-shek made it clear that the National Roosevelt Library was located in Chongqing, the capital of the Anti-Japanese War. The National Roosevelt Library is the predecessor of Chongqing Library. On May 1947 and 1, the National Roosevelt Library opened to the public, with a collection of more than 654.38+10,000 volumes.

On June 8, 2007, the new Chongqing Library, located at No.Toyota Avenue 106, Shapingba District, Chongqing, was officially opened to the public.
