Wang Yaodong is located in Shigong, Nanzheng County, across the river from Hanzhong, seven miles from the county seat. Wang Yaodong was named after the legend that Sun Simiao, the imperial doctor, lived in seclusion here. For thousands of years, it has been held every year from the first day to the third day of the second lunar month. It was a huge and lively temple fair. The people worshipped and the incense was flourishing, which helped to strengthen the body to ward off evil spirits, protect the yuan and consolidate the foundation, eliminate disasters and solve problems, and come back to life. Tourists come here in droves. Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in Tang Dynasty, was born in Yaoxian County, Shaanxi Province. He has been collecting herbs and practicing medicine in Zhong Nanshan and Taibai Mountain for many years. He integrated theory and practice in his life, and wrote a medical masterpiece "Qianjinfang", which recorded more than 800 kinds of drugs and more than 5,000 prescriptions. He made great contributions to the development of medicine and was named the king of medicine by later generations.
