What happened in the Western Qin’s attack on Beiliang?

The Battle of Western Qin to Attack Beiliang refers to the failed battle of the Western Qin Army in attacking Beiliang in the seventh year of Jianhong of the Western Qin Dynasty (the fifteenth year of Xuanshi of Beiliang, 426 years).

Detailed process: In August of the seventh year of Jianhong, King Qifu Chipan of the Western Qin Dynasty led his troops to attack Beiliang and entered Lianchuan (today's east of Ledu, Qinghai). He sent Prince Qifu Mumo and others to lead the advance. He mounted 30,000 troops to attack Xi'an (now southeast of Zhangye, Gansu), but failed, and then attacked Panhe (now west of Yongchang, Gansu). Juqu Mengxun, the lord of Northern Liang, sent troops to resist. At the same time, he sent people to persuade Helianchang, the lord of Xia, to send troops to attack the capital of Western Qin, Wuhan (now southwest of Linxia, ??Gansu). The Lord of Xia sent the Southern General Hulugu with 20,000 cavalry to attack Yuanchuan (now northeast of Yuzhong, Gansu), and the Chariot and Cavalry General Wei Fa led 30,000 cavalry to attack Nan'an (now Longxi, Gansu). After hearing the news, the King of Western Qin hurriedly withdrew his troops. In September, he left the left prime minister Tanda to guard Wuhan, and moved the old and weak people and livestock in the territory to Chuihe City (now south of Guide, Qinghai, on the south bank of the Yellow River) and Mohe Yihanchuan ( In the southwest of Shuihe River). Wei Fa captured Nan'an and captured Zhai Shuang, the governor of Qinzhou in the Western Qin Dynasty, and Li Liang, the prefect of Nan'an. Murong Jiekui and others of Tuyuhun who were originally attached to the Western Qin saw that the Western Qin army was declining, so they led 20,000 troops to rebel against the Qin, rushed to the Pleiades River, and surrendered to Murui, the king of Tuyuhun. In October, Tanda was defeated by Hulugu at Kangliang Mountain. In November, Hulugu and Weifa combined forces to attack Wuhan, Qifu Chipan retreated from Baoding Company (now southeast of Linxia, ??Gansu). Hulugu attacked the south city of Pouhan, but was immediately repulsed by 300 men who dared to die, led by General Zhao Shousheng of the Western Qin Dynasty. The Xia army also attacked the Western Qin Shazhou governor Chu Lian Qianyu in Huanghe (in today's Qinghai), but was defeated by his general Qifu Wannian. They then attacked Xiping (now Xining in Qinghai) and captured the Western Qin Anxi general Ku Luogan. More than 5,000 soldiers were trapped and killed, and more than 20,000 households were plundered.

Comment: In this battle, Western Qin attacked Beiliang regardless of the declining strength of its troops. However, Beiliang was able to unite with Xia to attack and rescue them, which made the Western Qin army passive and finally failed.
