Xiamen, called "Xiamen" or "Heron" for short, also called Ludao, is a prefecture-level city, a sub-provincial city, a city with separate plans and a class I big city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province. Xiamen topography

There are many middle and low mountains in the northwest, among which Genting Mountain, located at the junction of Tongan and Anxi, is the highest mountain in the city with an altitude of 1 175.2 meters.

The first terrace on Xiamen Island with an altitude of 5- 10 meters was exposed to the sea about 6000 years ago, and the rocks on Genting Rock (Stone Age 65438+ 1 100 million years) were still in an obvious state of marine erosion. The geological structure of Xiamen is located in the eastern edge of the volcanic depression in eastern Fujian and the southwest of the metamorphic belt along the southeast coast of Fujian, which belongs to the seismic belt along the southeast coast of China.
