Xiachuan Island Travel Guide Notes 2018
Xiachuan Island is located in Guangdong Province. It is a tourist resort with a super beautiful natural environment. It has extremely rich biodiversity and various marine fish and plants. It is a natural oxygen bar. Here is what I will tell you Share Xiachuan Island travel guide and precautions.
Xiachuan Island belongs to Xiachuan Town, Taishan City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. Together with Shangchuan Island, it forms the Chuanshan Islands. It is a 4A-level tourist attraction. October to April of the following year is the off-season for tourism on the island. During the low tourist season, the shops and shopping streets on the island may be closed, but there will be fewer tourists. Taking advantage of the New Year's Day holiday, a group of three of us, two women and one man, drove to Xiachuan Island for fun.
Transportation Guide Ticket Price:
From Zhuhai to Taishan Shanzui Pier, you can take a bus (Gongbei Datong Bus Station has a direct bus to Shanzui Pier, the fare is 70 yuan, follow Zhuhai Xinhe Passenger Transport can book tickets online), or you can go to Taishan Bus Station (tickets to Taishan Bus Station are available at major bus stations such as Huxin Road Intersection) and then take the bus or Didi to Shanzui Pier.
There is also Didi Hitchhiking or self-driving. We had already made an appointment with Didi Hitchhiking, which cost about 150 yuan for two people. Later, a friend joined us and wanted to drive by himself, so we went there by car. The journey takes about 90 minutes, and the highway is all the way. Even during the New Year's Day holiday, it is completely smooth. The one-way highway charges 31 yuan.
What to wear:
I think the climate on Xiachuan Island is slightly cooler than Zhuhai by 1-2°C, because it is a little cold during the New Year’s Day holiday, and it is still cooler in the morning and night, and we When renting a motorcycle to go around the island, it is better to keep warm when the wind blows. You can bring an extra piece of warm clothing, such as a woolen sweater or a thick coat.
Accommodation recommendation:
The hotel we booked on Qunar.com (Meituan and Dianping are also available), Xinghaiwan Hotel, is located in the Wangfuzhou Scenic Area. The online reviews are relatively good. When I checked in, I met a large family of more than ten people who happened to be staying there. Because it was a newly built hotel, the environment was clean and the rooms were bright and bright. However, the sound insulation was not very good. We looked at many hotels. According to the evaluation, this hotel has good overall value for money. The standard room we booked costs 133 yuan. There are few people in the off-season, so the front desk upgraded us to a parent-child room.
Travel guide:
The boat ticket and the ticket to the Wangfuzhou tourist attraction on the island are combined tickets booked online. The price is 142 yuan, including round-trip boat tickets (Shanzui Port- Xiachuan Island Duwan Port), round-trip tickets (Duwan Port-Wangfuzhou Tourist Area), Wangfuzhou Tourist Area tickets. Tickets can be collected with your ID card at window 7 or 9 of the ticket office of Shanju Port Pier.
It takes about 40 minutes to take a boat from Shanzui Pier to Xiachuan Island Duwan Port (the 1.5-hour boat trip is a bit difficult to wait in the off-season), and then take a bus (you can see the bus when you get off the boat) to the scenic spot , the time is about 20 minutes.
After getting off the bus, check your ticket and enter the scenic spot. You can take the free sightseeing bus in the scenic area and get off at various hotels in the scenic area. The Xinghai Bay Hotel where we stayed can be seen in about 2 minutes by taking a sightseeing bus. Then check in, the hotel has free WIFI. After putting away the luggage, the three of us went to look for food.
Several restaurants we chose from the public were not open (restaurants are closed for a long time in the off-season). Then we met an aunt on the road who tried hard to sell us motorcycle rentals to get around the island. We happened to have this desire, and after some haggling we settled on 160 yuan for 2 motorcycles for 2 days (you can't get this price in peak season, usually 100 yuan for one motorcycle for two days).
Then we went to the Fisherman’s Restaurant for dinner on the recommendation of others. The Fisherman's Restaurant is close to the Wangfuzhou Scenic Area. It takes about 3-5 minutes to ride a motorcycle east from the Wangfuzhou Scenic Area and you can see a row of villagers' houses. The Fisherman's Restaurant is right on the roadside with a less conspicuous sign.
The three of us ordered a pound and a half of salt and pepper shrimps, a pound of salt and pepper fish, a scrambled egg, a portion of lettuce, a large portion of rice, and tableware for 150 yuan each.
We had two meals at this restaurant in two days. The other meal was 2 pounds of steamed ocean fish (50 yuan per pound), a large bowl of scallops and watercress, a portion of green vegetables, and a large portion Rice costs 170 yuan per ***. Relatively speaking, it is more cost-effective. The other Sichuan restaurant I went to is not recommended, it was terrible.
Motorcycle riding
It was already around 2 pm when we had dinner. It is said that the sunset in East Bay is the most beautiful. We rode a motorcycle west to East Bay and asked The villagers said that the military restricted area was not allowed to enter, but later people we met on the road said that we could go around it, but we didn't know the way.
As a result, we rode our motorcycles back to the Wangfuzhou Scenic Area and went to the big beach in Wangfuzhou. The beach was really clean, the water was clear, there were fewer people in the off-season, and the sand was very fine and soft. I took off my shoes and socks and played on the beach until sunset. I saw the magnificent sunset scene and the fishermen coming back with their raincoats on their heads. The scene was really beautiful.
Our group took a lot of photos, especially a lot of silhouettes against the sunset. People who practice yoga are especially suitable for taking silhouettes, and the silhouettes of people stretching their bodies in the sun are particularly beautiful. It looks like I’m going to do yoga in the future.
After sunset, we had a full meal and returned to the hotel. In the off-season, there are fewer lights outside, but occasionally there will be a short fireworks, which is very short and ends before we can open the window.
Silhouettes under the setting sun
The next morning we got up early and planned to watch the sunrise, but after having breakfast the sun had already come out.
We looked at the sculpture of the Jade Girl Riding the Dragon (also called the Bathing God, who mainly protects the fishermen who go out to fish to return safely), took some photos and started riding motorcycles around the island.
Go east and pass 5 beaches in one round. When you reach the Chao Ren Trail sign, you will return to Wangfuzhou Scenic Area along Sichuan Avenue.
The Jade Girl Rides the Dragon
We passed by Niutang Bay along the way, where there is a relatively beautiful beach. There are only three of us with few people. We can also take pictures of Niutang Village, where the houses are all white. The walls are gray tiles, and the photo effect is very good.
Then walk east to Miyan. There is a pavilion in Miyan which is a better place to watch the sunrise. You can reach the pavilion in a few minutes by walking. It is also quite good to take pictures of the sea view from the pavilion. Overlooking many small islands in the distance, with a wide field of vision and blue water, it is a perfect place for viewing and taking photos.
Continue riding east and you will reach the Botanical Park. From the Botanical Park, you can see the panoramic view of the beach of Dawan, which is really beautiful! The Botanical Park is also the best place to watch the sunrise on Xiachuan Island. Continuing to ride to Dawan Village, you can choose to go to the reservoir or continue walking. After about 5 minutes, there will be a sign indicating that you can enter Dawan Beach.
Dawan Beach is larger and more beautiful than the beach in Wangfuzhou Scenic Area, and there are fewer people. It is really worth visiting. Continue riding past a small village and arrive at Baishijiao. Baishijiao is just a pile of rocks with nothing to see.
After riding, you can see the stone signboard of Chaoren Trail, and then continue riding along Chuanzhong Avenue. You will pass Xiachuan Town. The town is only about 10 minutes away from the scenic spot by motorcycle, but the road is full of potholes. , it is winding and winding, with many ups and downs, making it difficult to walk.
It takes about 2 hours to ride around the island. On the way, you can play at Niutangwan Beach, Miyan and Dawan Beach. Miyan and the Botanical Park are particularly good for taking photos.
Panorama of the beach in Dawan
In short, Xiachuan Island is still worth a visit. The sea water is crystal clear and you can enjoy the beach. You can enjoy the sea view along the way by riding around the island.
