Characteristics and differences of hotel furniture materials
Solid wood furniture refers to furniture made of natural wood. Generally, the texture of wood can be seen on the surface of furniture. There are roughly two kinds of solid wood furniture on the market at present. One is pure solid wood furniture, and all the materials of furniture are solid wood, including desktop, door panel, cabinet side panel and so on. , made of pure solid wood, without using any other artificial board. The other is imitation solid wood furniture, that is, the natural texture, feel and color of wood are exactly the same as solid wood furniture in appearance, but they are actually made of solid wood and man-made boards, such as particleboard or medium density fiberboard with veneers for side panels and shelves, while solid wood is used for doors and drawers.
Second, the fly in the ointment of solid wood furniture:
The main problem of solid wood furniture is that the change of moisture content makes it easy to deform, so it can't be exposed to direct sunlight, and the indoor temperature can't be too high or too low. Too dry and humid environment is not suitable for solid wood furniture. In addition, the component combination of solid wood furniture usually adopts tenon structure and adhesive, and the finished product can not be disassembled generally, which is very inconvenient to carry.
Three, wood-based panel furniture:
1, Advantages: The combination of wood-based panel furniture components usually adopts various metal hardware, which is very convenient to disassemble and assemble, and the furniture with high processing precision can be disassembled and assembled many times. Because there are many kinds of veneers, the change of color and texture can give people different feelings, and there are also many changes in modeling design, which are personalized and not easy to deform.
Disadvantages: the problems of wood-based panel furniture are mostly in environmental protection. If the furniture is made of particleboard and other materials, it is easy to release formaldehyde that pollutes the environment and is harmful to human body if it is not completely wrapped when it is faced and sealed. Generally speaking, if you open a cupboard door or drawer, if there is a strong pungent smell, most of it is formaldehyde exceeding the standard, and this kind of furniture is not suitable for purchase.
3. Selection of wood-based panel: Wood-based panel is a panel made by mixing leftover materials produced in wood processing with other fibers. There are many kinds of wood-based panels, such as particleboard, medium density board, blockboard (large core board), plywood, fireproof board and so on, which can be used in different parts of the family according to their own characteristics.
Fourthly, particleboard makes furniture plates diversified:
Particleboard is a kind of man-made board made by cutting scraps and sawdust in wood processing into pieces of certain specifications, drying them, mixing them with adhesive, hardener and waterproof agent, and pressing them at a certain temperature. Because of its uniform structure and good processability, particleboard can be processed into large-format plates as needed, which is a good raw material for making furniture with different specifications and styles. The finished particleboard can be used directly without drying again, and has good sound absorption and sound insulation performance. But it also has its inherent shortcomings, because the edge is rough and easy to absorb moisture, so the edge sealing technology of particleboard furniture is particularly important.
Five, medium density fiberboard to improve aesthetics:
Medium density fiberboard is an artificial board made of wood or plant fiber, which is mechanically separated and chemically treated, added with adhesive and waterproof agent, and then molded at high temperature and high pressure.
The structure of MDF is more uniform than that of natural wood, and it also avoids problems such as decay and moth-eaten. At the same time, the expansion and contraction are small and easy to process. Because the surface of MDF is flat, it is easy to paste various finishes, which can make furniture more beautiful.
