Does the glass specification requirements of 5+ 12+5 of high-rise railing corridor meet the requirements?

When choosing the glass thickness of glass guardrail, there are two standards: the first is the article 12.5.7 of Code for Quality Acceptance of Building Decoration Engineering (GB502 10-200 1), which stipulates that the guardrail glass should be tempered glass or tempered with a thickness not less than12 mm.

Another stipulation of the glass thickness of the glass fence is the Technical Specification for the Application of Building Glass (JJ113-2009), which stipulates that the selection of the glass thickness is related to the size of the glass area. Generally speaking, the bigger your single piece of glass, the thicker the glass you use. At the same time, it is stipulated that the nominal thickness of tempered glass without horizontal load is not less than 5mm or laminated glass with nominal thickness of not less than 6.38mm, and the thickness of tempered glass with horizontal load is not less than 12mm or not less than16.76 mm. When the height of the lowest point of the glass railing from one side of the building floor is 3m or more and 5m or less, the thickness of tempered laminated glass is not less than16.76 mm.

According to the two specifications listed above, we can draw a conclusion that the glass thickness of glass guardrail should reach at least 12mm, and both laminated glass and tempered glass should meet this minimum standard. When decorating our own house, we should choose glass with a thickness of at least 12mm for safety reasons.

Of course, not all glass guardrails have the same glass thickness. The thickness of the glass needs to be selected according to the specifications of the guardrail. If there is no frame glass guardrail, the glass thickness will be thicker. If there is a frame glass guardrail, the glass thickness can be relatively thin. Of course, whether it is a glass guardrail with a frame or a glass guardrail without a frame, the thicker the glass, the better. In particular, owners living in high-rise buildings should choose thicker glass guardrails.
