Characteristics of Owls

There are three types of owls

? They have the same characteristics: they are nocturnal birds of prey. The beak is strong and hooked. The wax film on the base of the mouth is covered by the hard whiskers. Wings vary in appearance. The tail is short and rounded. The claws are large and sharp.

?The tail fat gland is exposed. No secondary feathers.

1. Owls, also known as owls and owls, are nocturnal birds. There are about 26 species of owls distributed in China, all of which are national second-level protected animals. Most species feed almost exclusively on rodents and are important beneficial birds, and owls are the only birds that can distinguish blue. The feathers around the owl's eyes are radiating, and the fine feathers are arranged to form a face plate, which looks like a cat, hence the name owl. Living habits

1. Most owls inhabit trees, and some species inhabit rocks and grass.

2. Owls’ food is mainly rodents, but they also eat insects, birds, lizards, fish and other animals.

3. Once the owl determines the location of its prey, it attacks quickly. The feathers of an owl are very soft, and the wing feathers are densely covered with velvet-like down. Therefore, the frequency of the sound waves generated by the owl when flying is less than 1 kilohertz, and ordinary mammalian ears cannot detect such low frequencies.

4. Owls are color blind and are the only birds that can distinguish blue. Except for some birds that are used to night life, such as owls, they cannot distinguish because there are no cone cells in the retina. In addition to color, many birds have color sense. Crows need to find a place to land when flying high in the sky. The color will help them judge the distance and shape. Then they can catch the flying insects in the air and land gently on the branches.

Feeding method

1. Wild owls will not eat what is fed by humans. They must open their mouths and put the meat into their throats, usually lean meat.

2. Give it water, open its mouth with your hands, and then inject it into the mouth with a syringe with the needle removed. Owls are national second-level protected animals and are not allowed to be bred. They will violate the law. In the light case, they will be fined and released, and in the serious case, they will be detained and subject to criminal law. But it seems possible to apply.
