What are the characteristics of movies around the world?

(1) Europe: Europe is the birthplace of movies. After the film came into being, it has always been regarded as an art in Europe, so European films are mainly art, mostly literary films and feature films. Later, influenced by Hollywood, some commercial films also appeared. However, most European filmmakers look down on Hollywood's pure commercial films and think they are too vulgar, so European films are mainly art films.

(2) North America: It is basically the world of Hollywood. When Hollywood came into being in the early days, most filmmakers came from Europe, and they were mainly art films. However, in the 1930s, because the chaebol on Wall Street in the United States took a fancy to the profits of movies, they gradually controlled Hollywood through various channels. Since then, Hollywood has been the world of commercial films, becoming a commercial film assembly line, and commercial films have emerged from the assembly line like cars to face the world. Therefore, North American movies are the world of commercial films.

(3) South America: In South America, although the film started very early, it has never been taken seriously, so until now, the film output in South America is only higher than that in Africa. South American movies are unique. They are mainly based on local historical and cultural documentaries. Therefore, the film coverage is narrow, which limits the development of South American films. Occasionally, some commercial films are made, but foreign countries are not interested in introducing them, and local people don't like them, so we can't see South American films now. The only commercial films in Colombia and Peru that have a certain appeal in the international arena are mostly joint ventures.

(4) Oceania: Like North America, movies in Oceania are mainly Australian movies. Australian films are very complicated, both commercial films and art films are made. Because Australia has always taken Hollywood as the weather vane, local filmmakers shoot whatever is popular in Hollywood. A major feature of Australian films is joint venture. Basically, most of the films produced every year are joint ventures, especially many of them are investors from Hollywood. It is absolutely true that they are the back garden of Hollywood.

(5) Africa: African films started at the latest, very simple and too poor. People look down on movies, how can they develop? Moreover, Africa has been in a state of war for a long time, and it is impossible to provide filmmakers with an environment for growth. So in Africa, the quantity and quality of movies are far behind other regions. As two major film producers in Africa, Egypt and South Africa rarely produce their own films, most of which are foreign-funded films, while African native films are mostly biographical films. However, Africa is the movie location in the eyes of filmmakers all over the world, with a large area of desert, a large number of wild animals and ancient Egyptian culture. Many movies in the world are shot in Africa every year. Generally speaking, African films really have no features.

(5) Asia: There are many kinds of Asian films. Basically, every country's movies have their own characteristics, from Hong Kong, known as the Oriental Hollywood, to Bollywood in India, to South Korea and Thailand, and even Japanese adult movies have their own place in the history of world movies. Only China, as a big country in Asia with the largest population, has not become a big movie country and has no own characteristics. No matter the quality or quantity of movies, they can't compare with Europe and America, which is a pity of our country. Subdividing Asian films, East Asia and Southeast Asia are mainly Japanese, Korean and Thai films, mainly horror films, mainly song and dance films in South Asia, mainly Iranian films in West Asia and mainly religious films.
