How to prune eggplant?
Eggplant is a two-branch crop. Generally, two branches are pruned, that is, after the first branch of the plant, two robust branches are selected to grow at the same time. After that, only one of the two branches remains as a fruiting branch, and there are only two fruiting branches in the whole growth period. Or after the door eggplant grows, keep the eggplant fruit on the main stem and side branches, when the opposite eggplant appears, keep one branch as the fruiting branch respectively, remove the other branches, and then circulate. After the same fruiting branch sits on the fruit, leave two leaves for coring.
Double-stem method is suitable for large fruit varieties planted in high-yield facilities and open fields. Double-stem method can promote concentrated fruit, with large fruit and high quality. You can also leave one more fruiting branch, which is called the three-pole method. Its practice is to leave two lateral branches as fruiting branches under the eggplant except the main stem branches, then leave one fruit for each branch, knock off all the lateral branches, and finally the three branches bear fruit. Three-pole method is suitable for varieties with low plants and medium fruits. There are many achievements, but they are not big.
Cultivation techniques of eggplant
The production field must be sandy loam or loam with high and dry terrain, uniform soil fertility, deep soil layer, ventilation and light transmission, fertile and loose soil, convenient irrigation and drainage, and stable yield and harvest. Sowing in early spring is 65438+February, sowing in late February of the following year, and harvesting begins at the end of April. Sow in May, sow in June and harvest in August-September in autumn. Eggplant seeds have a 1000-grain weight of 4-5g, and the amount of seeds used for seedling and transplanting is generally per mu 15-20g.
Eggplant has strong growth potential, many lateral branches and rapid leaf growth, especially in the case of suitable temperature and sufficient fertilizer. However, if the plant grows too densely, it will cause falling flowers, rotten fruits and poor fruit color. Therefore, pruning eggplant can increase production.
