Shi's personal profile

Shi is currently an academician of the American Society of Electromagnetic Engineering (1999- present), a senior member of the American Society of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) (1993- present, a senior member since 2002), a member of the IEEE Association of Geographical Sciences and Remote Sensing (1989- present), and an American Geophysical Union (AGU).

1997 Up to now, he has served as chairman and vice-chairman of international remote sensing seminars in IGARSS, PIERS and SPIE; As a member of the technical committee and chairman of the first and second RAQRS chapters (2002, 2006) (international symposium on quantitative remote sensing progress); 1998,2001.In 2004, he served as a member of the technical committee and chairman of the branch of the international conference on the application of geophysical parameters in SAR data inversion. Chairman of the 9th International Symposium on Remote Sensing Physical Measurement and Signals in 2005.

At present, he is a review expert of many international remote sensing magazines such as Environmental Remote Sensing, International Remote Sensing, International Remote Sensing Progress, Geophysical Progress, Water Resources, Hydrological Progress, Glaciology, Radio Science, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Journal. He has served as a fund evaluation expert for NASA (1995- present), National Natural Science Foundation of the United States (200 1- present), National Natural Science Foundation of China (2003- present) and Austrian National Natural Science Foundation (2003).
