Wanlou is a landmark building in Lijiang.

In Dongba, it is interpreted as a Millennium building. In Naxi, it is called Wenjialun, which means you can enjoy the scenery from the commanding heights. Because of its harmony, it is called Wangulu. It means overlooking Old Town of Lijiang and its rural scenery, overlooking the eternal glaciers of Yulong Snow Mountain, and it also means that Lijiang's restoration and reconstruction of its homeland will be immortal.

The ancient building is a tower-shaped all-wood structure with five eaves, with a height of 33 meters, symbolizing the 330,000 people of all ethnic groups in the original Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County.

* * * Main columns 16, all of which are field columns, are the first floor of all-wood bucket arch buildings in China. The column is 22 meters long, which reflects the folk saying of Nuo Nuo and the custom of choosing a date to get married for good luck. The adoption of 16-day column reflects the legend of Dongba hieroglyphics of Naxi nationality, that is, the nine brothers started the world and Seven Sisters divided the land, which means that Naxi children will jointly create a better world.

The plane of the ancient building is square, with width 18m and depth 18m. There are four pairs of stone lions with different moods at the four entrances.

There are 2300 auspicious patterns painted in the building, representing 23 stone carvings in Lijiang, which means good weather and good crops all year round. The whole building has 9999 carved and painted dragon patterns, and there are 10000 dragons in the caisson on the roof, which is the only Xinglong dragon in the past dynasties, implying that Lijiang is a beautiful home and a descendant of dragons.

The flat dragon mouth shape at the top of caisson reflects the legend that dragons can spit water, which means that water can overcome fire and eliminate disasters. When people climb stairs to watch or walk in the forest, don't throw cigarette butts and pay attention to fire prevention.

Wangulou location

Wangulou is located at the commanding height of Lion Mountain in Old Town of Lijiang, which is also the back hill of the shogunate. Wangulou is a part of Lijiang Muhe Tusi Manor Mufu.

The ancient building, built on the Vantage Building, overlooks Old Town of Lijiang and its pastoral scenery, overlooks the Wannian Glacier of Yulong Snow Mountain, and symbolizes the restoration and reconstruction of Lijiang's homeland, which is timeless.

Gu Lou has pine forests and high slopes, and a large platform overlooks the whole of Old Town of Lijiang. Under the clear sky and green hills, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the left is clearly visible in the distance, and the blue-gray tile house on the right extends to the distance.

Bypass the platform, go down the stone steps directly to the shogunate, and go up the stone steps to the Wangulou.

Wanlou opera

Drum tower tour, you can climb lion mountain from Sifang street along the stone steps to drum tower, and the whole journey takes 30 minutes.

Lion Mountain is the back garden of the shogunate during the Ming and Qing Tusi period, and you can climb it to watch it. When you climb tens of thousands of ancient pagodas, you can overlook the magical and beautiful Yulong Snow Mountain in the north, Old Town of Lijiang in the east, Lijiang New Town in the west and picturesque rural villages in the south.

In the far south, there is a writing peak like a giant pen, next to which is a pen container for writing. At the foot of the mountain, there happens to be an ocean written in ink. In addition, Dayan ancient city, shaped like an inkstone, wrote down the wonders of Lijiang.

When you climb the Wanguta, you can have a panoramic view of Lijiang Dam, step on the long forest of Lion Mountain, and you can see the thirteen peaks of Yulong Mountain in the north, Old Town of Lijiang in the east and the magnificent imitation Forbidden City.
