The most expensive affair: the incest between the king and his sister-in-law led to the tragedy of the country's demise.
If it weren't for having an affair with my sister-in-law, Kikuzuki wouldn't be caught in the embarrassing situation of being tied up and demanding surrender, and Beiliang's demise wouldn't come so fast. History is so cruel, a seemingly casual accident will produce a series of chain effects like dominoes. One false move may lose the game. History has passed 1500 years. We can't turn back time to explore the inner world of Kikuqu Muyu, and we can't verify whether he attributed the final outcome of national subjugation to that affair, but what is certain is that he did pay the heaviest price for it.
Juqu Muyu, born in an unknown year, died in 477 AD, and was the last king of the sixteen countries of North Liang in Wuhu.
Lushui Hu people in Song Lin, a branch tribe of Huns, are named after living in Lushui. Juqu was originally an official title of Xiongnu tribe, which was divided into Zuoju Canal and Youju Canal, equivalent to the prime minister or Qiu of Han Dynasty. The predecessor of Juqu Muyu is Xiongnu Zuoju Canal, so the official is the surname. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Juqu tribe moved to Lushui, and then developed from south to north, gradually becoming a powerful tribe in the western regions.
The family background of Juqu Muyu is also very prominent. He is a tribal leader from generation to generation, and belongs to the nobility of the tribe, so he can be an official in Hou Liang. Qu Mengxun, the uncle of Meng Xun, was a guard. Qu Luoqiu, the uncle of Meng Xun, was killed after being defeated by Emperor Lu in Henan, and more than 10,000 people were buried by the religious department. However, Meng Xun rebelled with his cousin Cheng Nan, Juqu. For the sake of Beiliang, Duan Ye, the satrap of Jiankang, was appointed as Liangzhou Pastoral. But Duan Ye is just a puppet, and the power is controlled by Ju Qumeng Xun. Four years later, Meng Xun killed Duan Ye to stand on his own feet, and defeated Nanliang to attack Xiliang, unifying the whole territory of Liangzhou and becoming the most powerful separatist regime in the West at that time. In 433 AD, Ju Mengxun died of illness. Because my son is still young, my nephew is enthroned by Qu Muyu.
The Northern Wei Dynasty destroyed the northern cool and the northern land was returned to Tuoba, marking the complete end of the five lakes and sixteen countries. Beiliang, among the sixteen countries in Wuhu, is only a small country with a small footprint. But because of its special geographical location, it has always been a battleground for military strategists. Liangzhou roughly includes what is now Gansu Province, including Inner Mongolia and a part of Qinghai. It is the transportation hub between the Central Plains and the western countries, and the only place to cross the Hexi Corridor. In order to defend the Huns, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened four counties, Wuwei, Jiuquan, Zhangye and Dunhuang, and later set up Liangzhou Secretariat. Liangzhou is named because it is located in the west and it is cold all the year round. During the Sixteen Countries Period, Wuhu successively established five separatist regimes, namely, Liang Qian, Hou Liang, Nanliang, Xiliang and Beiliang, accounting for one third of 16 countries.
When Juqu Muyu died, it was 38 years after Beiliang was destroyed by the Northern Wei Dynasty. He was not killed at that time because he and then Northern Wei Emperor Tuoba Tao were brothers-in-law: Princess Xingping, the sister of Ju Qumu Yu, married Tuoba Tao, and wuwei princess, the sister of Tuoba Tao, married Muyu. At the beginning of Gui Mu's accession to the throne, the Northern Wei Dynasty was already a powerful country in the north, and the limelight was healthy. First, the Queen Yan of Murong was destroyed, forcing it to be divided into the north and the south, and then Helian Bobo's Daxia Kingdom was attacked, which basically unified the north. Although Beiliang occupied the fortress and suffered from mountain disasters, it could not compete with the Northern Wei Dynasty after all, so Juqu Muqin adopted a kinship policy to ease the situation and accepted the title of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
But what's worse, Kikuko is a restless advocate. He secretly loves his sister-in-law, Li, and has an affair with him and his sister-in-law. Lee was favored, so he didn't like wuwei princess, so he poisoned wuwei princess with his sister. After Tuoba GUI heard about it, he sent a detoxification doctor to save her, and the princess survived. This angered Tuoba Tao, who insisted that the shepherd escort Li to Wei for punishment. However, the shepherd quietly placed Li in Jiuquan, and his treatment remained unchanged. He casually greeted him with delicious food. In a rage, Tuoba Tao launched a massive attack on Beiliang in 439 AD, besieging ancient Tibet, and the Beiliang army was invincible. Finally, the shepherd had to command his 5,000 men and women to surrender, and Beiliang perished.
For the time being, there is no moral standard, only from the political point of view, this is also a taboo, which is undoubtedly a disrespect for the emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty. That being the case, why did Juzi Mu do it? There are several reasons: First, although the Ququ Muyu married the Princess of the Northern Wei Dynasty, it was only a political marriage, a stopgap measure, and the two sides had no feelings. Secondly, having such a princess around is tantamount to putting it in Wei's eyes and ears, and it is understandable that shepherds don't like it. The most important point is that Juqu Muji and Di Wei are not equal. After wuwei princess got married, Tuoba Tao asked her to be the queen, and Li, the original wife, moved to Jiuquan and died soon. When Gui Mu's sister married Tuoba GUI, she only gave her a birthright, that is, you Zhao Yi. The status of the two sides has been divided. In the eyes of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Beiliang was just a vassal state. In Tuoba Tao's view, Room 72 of Gui Mu brothel is just a relationship between monarch and minister. Status is so unequal, Gui Mu is certainly not the taste in my heart. Another point is that Gui Mu underestimated the strength of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Northern Wei Dynasty was defeated flexibly, which made Gui Mu feel that there were only so many Northern Wei Dynasties, not as fierce as the legend. Even if you attack, you can ask the enemies of the Northern Wei Dynasty to help you. I didn't expect the Northern Wei army to be unstoppable. Not only was Beiliang unable to cope, but even the reinforcements sent by Rouran were defeated by the Northern Wei.
It should be said that the demise of Beiliang is a matter of time, which is the general trend. But what is certain is that the Northern Wei Dynasty would never have laid hands on Beiliang so early, and it was a king of Hexi grazing by herders, and the time would be longer. As a mirror, there is such a thing: an old man wrote a letter to the shepherd, saying that if Liang Wang reigned for 30 years, it would be seven years, which means that Liang Wang reigned for 30 years, or it might be seven years. This may be the interpretation of future generations, but then again, if it weren't for the affair in the middle, it is not known that Juqu Muyu could be the king of Hexi for 30 years. First, at that time, the northern Wei dynasty was undecided and would not attack subordinate countries too early; Second, because of the in-laws between the two sides, the Northern Wei Dynasty was merciless. In fact, the Northern Wei Dynasty was still very concerned about this marriage. Just after the shepherd tied himself out of the city and surrendered, Tuoba Tao did not kill him immediately, but let him go and treated him as his brother-in-law. Still named Zheng as the general and the king of Hexi. After the death of the herding mother, Tuoba Tao was buried with an etheric princess, which shows that Tuoba Tao is still very kind. It was not until 38 years after the demise of Beiliang that Zhu Mu was murdered for rebellion, otherwise he would surely enjoy his old age and spend the rest of his life.
