Photoshop Case: Sea of ??Clouds Fantasy Adventure Scene
Although Photoshop can complete various image processing tasks very well, in my mind, PS is a tool for material splicing and synthesis. , I think this is the essence of PS and the place with the most skills.
This case is a typical synthesis case of cutout + splicing + color correction.
Although due to a series of reasons such as limited time, difficulty in finding materials, and average quality, the final product is not particularly perfect (the little H children's boots next door made all kinds of complaints about the finished product), but I have really made it. Tried my best.
The finished picture is as follows~~
The materials used are as follows:
Some of these materials have already been attached, and some need to be cut out by yourself.
As for the technique of cutting out pictures, I once watched a PS online course that taught very detailed and good information. However, since it is a video, it is very troublesome to look for it every time I think of it. I think I will have time to organize it into one in the future. Articles are easier to find.
PhotoshopCC2017 is used here.
The following text begins~
First, create a new blank canvas, open the picture of the distant mountains, crop it and adjust the size.
Then add a mask to the distant mountain layer and use a brush to erase the excess lower part.
Add the sea of ??clouds material and adjust the position and size.
Then add a mask to the sea of ??clouds, and use a large brush with a low hardness to erase the excess to create a natural transition.
Add a solid color layer to the background to adjust the overall tone.
Then add a color balance adjustment layer to the distant mountain layer, and then add it as a layer mask.
Similarly add a color balance adjustment layer to the sea of ??clouds layer, and then add it as a layer mask.
Add a Curves adjustment layer to the sea of ??clouds layer, darken the clouds, and add it as a layer mask.
Use a large brush with low hardness to adjust the mask on the curve of the sea of ??clouds and erase the areas that should be bright.
Then add the cliff material, adjust the size and position, and add a mask to erase unnecessary places.
Add a Curves adjustment layer to the cliff layer, darken the cliff, and add it as a layer mask.
Use a brush with a lower hardness to adjust the mask on the curve of the cliff and erase the areas that should be bright.
Then add a color balance adjustment layer to the cliff layer, adjust the color of the cliff, and add it as a layer mask.
Create a new layer, use a blue brush to paint on the cliff, lower the opacity of the layer to add a cloudy feel to the cliff, and add the layer as a layer mask of the cliff layer.
Create a new layer, use a blue brush to paint on the dark part of the cliff, change the layer mode to Multiply, lower the layer opacity, add light and dark changes to the cliff, add the layer as Layer mask for the cliff layer.
Then open the stone material in a new canvas and extract the stones in the material.
Add the buckled stone material, adjust the size and position, add a mask to erase unnecessary places, and the transition will be natural.
Add a color balance adjustment layer to the stone layer, adjust the color of the stone, and add it as a layer mask.
Create a new layer, use a white brush to paint on the bright part of the stone, change the layer mode to Overlay, lower the opacity of the layer, lighten the stone, and add the layer as a stone layer layer mask.
In the same way, create a new layer and use a dark blue brush (which can absorb dark cloud colors) to paint on the dark part of the stone. Change the layer mode to Multiply and lower the layer opacity. To add a shadow to the stone, add the layer as a layer mask to the stone layer.
Create a new layer, use a blue brush to paint on the stone, lower the opacity of the layer to add a cloudy feel to the stone, and add the layer as a layer mask of the stone layer.
Add the buckled boat material, adjust the size and position, add a mask to erase unnecessary places, and the transition will be natural.

Add a color balance adjustment layer to the boat layer, adjust the color of the boat, and add it as a layer mask.
Then create a new layer, use a gray brush to add shadows to the boat and shadows on the cloud sea, change the layer mode to Multiply, and lower the layer opacity.
Add the buckled hot air balloon material and adjust the size and position.
Then adjust the saturation and color levels of the hot air balloon, and use the burn tool and dodge tool to adjust the light and shade of the hot air balloon.
Create a new layer, use a gray brush to paint on the hot air balloon, lower the opacity of the layer to add a misty feel to the hot air balloon, and add the layer as a layer mask of the hot air balloon layer. .
Add other hot air balloon materials, adjust the size and position, and pay attention to the changes in distance and distance. The color adjustment method is the same as the heater just now.
Add the clipped human material, adjust the size and position, and add a mask to erase unnecessary areas.
Then add a Curves adjustment layer to the person's layer, darken the person, and add it as a layer mask.
Create a new layer, use a blue brush to paint on the person, lower the opacity of the layer to give it a cloudy feel, and add the layer as a layer mask of the person layer.
Then add a hue and saturation adjustment layer to the person's layer, adjust the person's color, and add it as a layer mask.
Add the buttoned bird material, adjust the size and position, and reduce the layer opacity to make the transition natural.
Create a new layer, use a large brush to brush out the dark parts of the clouds and the sun, and reduce the opacity of the layer.
Dang Dang Dang~
Completed!
This case is actually not difficult technically, but the most painful part of the whole process is the material part, all the information found online The materials are not clear enough, and it is really difficult to process them. Alas, everyone says that the good materials are all taken by myself. . .
I can’t help but think of the time when I took a free online class. The materials given by the teacher were all high-definition and showed every detail. It was so conscientious.
But I forgot to save it after following the lesson. I will dig it out and do it again later when I have time. It is a rare high-definition material. . Who knows how to cut out pictures? . Help me. . Need it urgently. . .
Is it just clouds? Can the clouds without words below about be enough? Is this okay? How to add clouds to pictures using PS
Method:
1. After finding a picture of a cloud, cut it out, use a lasso and eraser to remove the things outside the cloud, feather it, copy and paste it into the picture you want
2.
1. Open the original image material, then open a landscape image with clouds, and use the move tool to drag it onto the background layer. The landscape photo is smaller than the original photo. Press Ctrl+T to enlarge it appropriately so that it is the same size as the image we want to adjust.
2. Press Ctrl+J to copy the background layer into two layers, and drag it onto the cloud layer for later use. Close the eyes in front of the background copy 2 and process the background copy first.
3. Open the layer blending options.
4. In the "Layer Style Dialog Box" that pops up, hold down the Alt key and separate the slider on the right side of "This Layer" in the mixed color band below into two pieces. Then while looking at the layer, drag the slider to the left until the clouds below are displayed. It means to hide the highlight part of this layer. If you drag the black slider on the right, it will hide the dark part of this layer. This is a technique often used in layer composition.
5. Now I can see that although the sky is hidden in the original film, the characters and the highlights in the sea are also partially hidden. Next, use Background Copy 2 to restore the hidden parts of the sea water and characters.
6. Select part of copy 2. It is above the background copy and blocks the layers below. All layers seem to be restored to their original state. Click the "Add Layer Mask" button on the layers panel to add a mask to background copy 2.
7. Color the foreground color black, and use a black brush to paint on the sky part, and the sky will appear again. Note: When wiping to the edge of the character, adjust the opacity and hardness of the brush and be careful not to erase the character. In the mask, the black part is the blocked part, and the white part is the exposed part. Block the sky on this layer with black, and the sky with clouds on the next layer will be displayed.
8. I feel that the colors of the sky and the sea are not coordinated enough. Create a new Curves adjustment layer, lower the red and green, and increase the blue. On the dividing line between background copy 2 and the curve layer, hold down the Alt key and click with the mouse to turn the curve layer into a clipping mask. Then use a black paintbrush to erase the characters. The purpose of the clipping mask is to only affect the white area of ??the lower mask and will not affect other areas.
