Information about Nokia N9

The MeeGo project has several graphical user interfaces, which are internally called "user experience" ("UX").

Based on Qt, mobile phone UX will provide applications from Intel AppUp or Nokia Ovi digital software distribution system according to different devices.

appearance design

There are four colors of N9: jet black, magenta, lake blue and pure white (the process is very complicated, soft and shiny, so it is listed late). The N9 has a special appearance, except that it is only 7.6 mm thick at the thinnest part, and it also adopts an integrated fuselage without any seams. However, in order to improve the performance of the antenna, N9 does not use metal to integrally form the fuselage like N8, but uses polycarbonate plastic.

On the front of the mobile phone, the N9 is equipped with a 3.9-inch AMOLED screen, and the surface of the screen is covered with a layer of curved gorilla glass, which is vacuum-treated to prevent glare. The resolution is FWVGA(854 x 480 pixels), which gets rid of the long-used nHD screen. In addition, the screen adopts seamless design, and the screen surface looks like it is attached to the glass surface, and there is no gap between the general screen glass and the screen body. And using Nokia's exclusive second-generation "Nokia ClearBlack Display" technology, the display effect is as clear and beautiful even in the sun, and there will be no usual illegible problems. The display effect in the sun exceeds most mobile phones on the market, including Apple 4.

Because of MeeGo system, Nokia designed the N9 with no main operation buttons. There are no buttons on the front except for the volume adjustment button and the on-off button on the side, so all operations should be completed by sliding on the touch screen.

Because of this, the operation of MeeGo operating system on N9 is very simple, mainly relying on sliding screen, which can be said to run through the whole N9. In any application, as long as you slide your finger from the edge of the screen, you will directly switch to the previously used program, assembly page or the latest notification page, and it will be accompanied by high-quality transition animation. Sliding down from the actual top (perpendicular to the ground) is to close the program. In any interface, you can bring up the shortcut menu by sliding up a short distance from the bottom of the screen.

Photography photography

The 8-megapixel autofocus carl zeiss optical lens, wide-angle lens, dual LED flash and video recording MPEG-4 SP 720p @ 30fps can be used as the second camera for video call. In the camera part, the N9 has an 8-megapixel camera module, adopts a wide-angle lens certified by Carl Zeiss, with a maximum aperture of F 2.2 and dual LED flash, which is more convenient for users to take photos in dark environment. Auto focus or touch focus is available. In addition, the camera can record movies up to 720p (MPEG-4 SP, 30 FPS), and the front of the mobile phone is also equipped with a front video call lens with 300,000 pixels.

It is worth noting that the front camera of N9 is located in the lower right corner of the fuselage, which seems a bit inconsistent with the mainstream.

Nokia N9 adopts MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan system and adopts a unique 3-screen sliding interface, which is named Swipe user interface by Nokia.

MeeGo system simplifies many functions, and you can find that many functions can be achieved in one step without too complicated process. MeeGo system is divided into three window interfaces: event window, application window and multi-task window.

Easter eggs

There are some little-known secrets hidden on N9, such as opening the settings-for mobile phones, click the "NOKIA" logo in the window about mobile phones until a prompt appears, and there will be an extra wlan0. In the device-display, there will be an extra switch to "slide down to close the program" (in fact, it has no effect, and the program can be closed whether it is turned on or off). Click Nokia to close the egg again, and the "Where to Go" version of the Bank of China will hold down the camel on the main interface for a few seconds, and an advertisement will appear.
