2. Disable uncommon functions

3. Turn off "background storage"

"background storage" means that PS automatically saves the modification of the current file every once in a while, so as not to cause losses to users due to power failure or abnormal machine failure. However, in many cases, PS card death is mostly due to its "credit", especially when the files you handle are too complicated, the hidden dangers brought by "background storage" are often higher than its positive effects, so it is recommended to close it!

4. Set the scratch disk correctly

When PS finds that the available memory is insufficient, it will automatically call the scratch disk to store files. Don't underestimate the temporary files of PS. A few GB are trivial. If your file resolution is high enough, or you link a lot of smart objects (such as various templates downloaded from the Internet), then a dozen GB is not a problem. In this case, the available memory of PS will be quickly consumed, and then the slower hard disk (temporary disk) will be used.

Usually, there are several principles for setting the temporary storage disk. After setting it, it will obviously feel smooth to handle large pictures.

1) It's better to set it to SSD, because you know;

2) multiple temporary storage disks are set at the same time, and when one inventory is full, there is a backup to choose from, so as to avoid the problem of insufficient temporary storage disks;

3) Don't include disk C. Disk C is a system disk, so it is frequently read and written. On the other hand, PS cache will take up space with virtual memory, causing more problems.

5. Graphics processor

If your graphics card is powerful, you can choose "Advanced" here. If your graphics card is ordinary or old, you should choose "Basic" or "Normal". In short, there are no certain rules here. It is entirely in accordance with your own computer configuration, and the right one is the best.

In addition, if you feel stuck after modifying many PS parameters, you can try to turn off "Use Graphics Processor", which will have a miraculous effect in many cases.

6. History and cache

Many small partners think that the higher the values of "cache level" and "cache collage size" in the "Performance" tab, the faster it is, but it is not. The cache here is not as simple as you think, it is actually closely related to the size and type of pictures you want to process (such as the number of layers). For example, if the size of the picture you want to process is not large but there are many layers (such as design drawings), you should set the cache level low (such as 1 or 2). However, if the picture has few layers but large pixels (such as a photographic picture), you need to increase the cache level. In short, it should be based on the nature of your daily work, not the higher the better or the lower the better.
