How to shoot a brightly lit night scene?
Holidays are the best time to shoot night scenes.
The lighting at night is basically artificial lighting. If you want to get the best shooting effect, then the best shooting time is holidays, when the lights are the most colorful.
During the holidays, the landscape lighting of some landmark buildings will be turned on, which will make the already conspicuous buildings more colorful. Or there will be all kinds of colored lights on the roadside to set off the festive atmosphere. Fireworks set off in the sky are also excellent shooting subjects, and colorful colors make the night scene more colorful.
The trees beside the street are decorated with festive lights. Shooting with small depth of field, some lights are blurred into dots, creating a romantic atmosphere.
The Best Time for Night Scene Shooting
Shooting night scenes is not all night, but the best shooting time. This time period is half an hour before it is completely dark. During this time, there was still some light in the sky, and the lighting equipment on the ground also lit up. The photos taken at this time show that the sky is not dark, but dark blue, and sometimes there are clouds in the sky. The light and shadow of the sky and the ground complement each other and the scenery is the most spectacular.
If the sky is completely dark, then the best shooting opportunity has been missed, the light is overexposed, the background is dark, and the picture lacks layering and details.
In order to seize the precious half an hour, it is best to set foot on the scene to be filmed in advance and wait for the shooting opportunity. Otherwise, the excellent shooting opportunity will be turned over in vain.
Half an hour before dark is the best time to shoot night scenes. At this time, the sky will not be dark, but dark blue.
Shoot night scene composition
Although there are some messy backgrounds hidden in the darkness at night, if there is no suitable shooting method, the lights everywhere will make the picture look messy. Some special shooting angles and framing methods can make night photos more colorful.
Close-up shooting: When shooting the night view of a tall building, you can use a wide-angle lens to shoot the building at close range. The wider visual range of wide-angle lens can accommodate more architectural images, and its deformation effect can also bring special visual experience. Close-up backhand, using the perspective principle of near big and far small, can make the top of the building shrink and deform, forming an abstract sense of geometric shape.
Use the lines of traffic: When shooting night scenes, slow exposure is usually used, and the running lights will leave tracks. These lines of traffic can also be used for composition. Pay attention to the leading role of traffic lines in composition, with lines as the main body. Traffic lines can be photographed by diagonal framing, convergent line composition and so on.
The lines formed by traffic flow can also create peculiar visual effects. By lowering the shooting angle and shooting the tall bus passing by, a three-dimensional traffic line can be formed in the photo.
Take night photos with star-awning effect.
Sometimes, we will see that the lighting of some night photos shows a star-like effect that radiates around. How was this photo taken? One method is to use starlight filter to shoot starlight effect, and the other method is to shoot with small aperture.
Internal light filter: using starlight filter can make the point light source in the picture form a very obvious starlight effect. The effect of the star sky made by the starlight mirror is very obvious, and the star sky will be longer and look a bit exaggerated.
Small aperture shooting: Small aperture shooting can also form star awning effect, but the star awning is relatively short. For star-shooting effect, the aperture should be the smallest, generally below F22. When shooting with a small aperture, the amount of light will be small and the exposure time will be prolonged, so be sure to keep the camera stable.
The night view taken by starlight mirror shows that the star awn is longer.
Three magic weapons for night scene shooting: tripod, pay-off and pre-elevation angle of reflector.
It is undoubtedly the most important to stabilize the camera when shooting at night. If the camera is unstable, the photos will be blurred. Stabilizing the camera should be solved from three aspects: tripod, pay-off and reflector pre-lifting.
Tripod: Tripod is the most important method to stabilize the camera and the most obvious effect. The tripod used must pass the quality inspection and has good stability. In addition to its own performance, it is best not to set up tripods in crowded overpasses or other places that are easy to shake.
Cable release: When manual shutter is used, it will also be selected as slight jitter of the fuselage. This slight jitter will also have a significant impact on long-time exposure shooting night scenes. The release of the cable can avoid the contact between the hand and the camera and avoid the jitter caused by pressing the shutter.
Mirror pre-lift: every exposure of the camera will make the mirror bounce when shooting, and it will also cause jitter of the fuselage when the mirror bounces. Turn on the camera's rearview mirror pre-lift function. Press the shutter for the first time and the reflector will pop up. Press the shutter again after the fuselage is stable, and the camera will start exposure shooting.
When shooting night scenes, using tripod, cable release and reflector pre-lifting functions can keep the camera stable to the maximum extent and ensure clear and excellent image quality.
