Bayonet prospect

20 18 On September 25th, Photokina, Germany, 20 18, Sigma, Leica and Panasonic announced that they would jointly develop L-shaped bayonets.

Same as 20 15, L bayonet born by Leica SL also

In the 20th13 and 135th centuries, Sony took the lead in digitizing the135 Quan Huafu specification.

Sony α7 was born, along with the FE bayonet specification based on E bayonet.

As early as 20 12, VG900 came out, also equipped with 135 specification and unnamed FE bayonet, which is usually considered as testing water. α7 announced this feasibility, and at the same time, the lens of FE system was born.

The specification of 135 is generally believed to be set by Leica on the Ur- Leica model of 19 13. The 35mm film that has been used in movies is used, but it spans 90 degrees and obtains a larger area than a single frame. In 20 15, Leica company extended the original T-shaped bayonet to L-shaped bayonet with specifications of 135, Leica SL and Quan Huafu.

Quan Huafu does not have anti-bayonets, which are sorted by the year of launch.

Hasselblad and FE once launched their own brand of Quan Huafu model, but we know that Solar should be regarded as a labeler, not an open bayonet work.

43 is an open platform, and openness is a major feature.

Any enterprise that wants to register and clean up can join and use the trademark.

Even this is so open that some manufacturers produce related accessories and don't join the alliance, but the lenses sell well.

Of course, it also brings some problems, such as the specification of bayonet changed from E-M5 (20 12) to EP5 (20 13).

The new L-shaped bayonet seems to have this potential, but unlike Olympus, it does not set up a "production committee" independently-this is a common way for Japanese enterprises to avoid disputes and develop together-but it is still in Leica's own hands.

This method has both advantages and disadvantages. But time will be the real arbiter.

Another idea of M43 is to introduce internal correction.

In the film age, the quality of the optical system is almost entirely determined by the lens subsystem;

In numbers, you can play some tricks and use in-machine processing to correct the lack of lens performance, such as distortion processing.

Lumix's "God Cake", G 20mm F 1.7, is very distorted, which is of course a compromise in a compact space. However, most people don't know this, because all M43 fuselages have a reference for the revision of 20/ 1.7, and this revision can be carried out in the real state.

This idea further liberates the lens design of the system. Maybe we have to worry about various physical conditions when changing lenses in the extension factory, but we have taken the lead in fixed-lens digital cameras, such as RX 1 and Leica Q, and more compact 1 inch models.

Will the L-series airframe complete this transformation with the help of Panasonic experienced by M43?

It is worth looking forward to.

Leica was the first company to do autofocus. Although autofocus appeared, it had nothing to do with Leica in the end.

This is a rather sad situation.

Leica holds M and R bayonet in 135 format, and opened the SLR port of the latter in 1964, which is not as famous as the M bayonet on the paraxial shaft.

M-port has its own, but in the 1970s, Leica of West Germany and Minolta of Japan cooperated to launch Leitz Minolta CL, which helped the evolution of M-port invisibly. After a short flight, the performance of M6 has improved.

The larger format s series is obviously not an order of magnitude. Update is slow due to 1998.

In 20 14, Leica and Leica T (Typ-70 1) started a new bayonet course.

At the same time, it is also a manufacturer who later joined Digital No Reverse.

Some amateurs can't understand the "digital non-reflection" electronic framing, and simply think that "there is no mirror", so they think that the paraxial using image sensors can also be classified; This is naturally inappropriate.

As a Quan Huafu model, SL was launched on 20 15. By the way, the original T port was renamed TL port, and the definitions of physical contact and electronic contact are actually the same, just whether Quan Huafu's image sensor is installed.

Sigma is more famous as a lens than as a fuselage.

They only have the production plant in Huijin. However, each lens is calibrated by a special A 1 instrument before leaving the factory.

Sigma currently uses SA bayonet, which is a bayonet held by Sigma itself and only used by Sigma itself.

For some DIY people, this bayonet is "very similar" to EF-of course, there are historical reasons, but the impact on ordinary users is limited.

According to previous experience on Sony FE, Sigma will launch MC- 1 1 connectors for EF-FE and SA-FE, so we can expect the following connectors:

It is very likely that you bought an L-port machine. Even if it is not a Sigma brand, you finally bought a durable Sigma adapter ring, which may not be expensive.

With AF.

Foveon is the developer of X3 sensor. After years of cooperation with Sigma, the company was acquired by Sigma in 2008 and became its subsidiary.

The high computing demand brings unfriendly applications, and the long-term sense of powerlessness and height also limits the subject of X3. SA bayonets may also be a problem. SD series SLR may not be as popular as DP series with fixed lens.

However, the aforementioned test equipment A 1 is based on X3, and it seems that the industrial effect may be ok.

Sigma has introduced SDQ and SDH, sd Quattro/sd Quattro H before, which is a model with in-phase characteristics, but it holds the s a bayonet. The lack of an available and promising bayonet has always been a concern of Yima, and L can be described as timely rain.

Sdqh is equipped with APS-H sensor, which is an improvement compared with the previous APS-C, but it seems that it has always lacked the motivation to enter Quan Huafu.

So will we see X3 in Quan Huafu?

What can Sigma bring us ... Can the current production capacity be at a reasonable price?

Panasonic brought two machines:

Three shots announced at the same time:

Panasonic did not work hard in 1943, and the release was very small.

The release in M43 is much more diligent. Personally, I think more M43 lenses may be more suitable and practical than those in Olympus (it is a bit strange for Olympus to brush F 1.2).

Since 10, these lenses are all small image fields, so it seems that they can't be tied up with the development of the new L-shaped bayonet.

Panasonic has a great career, which is not only consumer-grade, but also involves higher content production, such as video-related cameras.

Even consumer-grade machines naturally "standard" the 4K function, and I hope everyone can quickly enter the 4K rhythm.

On high-end machines, Panasonic has an interesting function, dual native ISO, which allows the machine to shoot at high ISO, but suppresses noise. It is influential in the industry and is currently assembled in the following machines:

Another urgent need is 8K video.

Panasonic announced the 8K equipment plan for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

4K video, 3840x2 160, the area (pixel number) is four times that of 1080P;

8K video, 7680x4320, is four times that of 4 k.

This kind of iteration of turning integer times directly is really catching chickens.

For comparison, take Sony A7 second-generation series as an example.

Minimum number of pixels12 million, A7S2;;

Maximum pixel, 42 million, A7R2.

The gap is only 3.5 times.

Incidentally, Sony's A7R2, 42MP, 3:2 sensor, 7952x5304.

It is possible for us to see that after the launch of S 1R for a period of time, a firmware upgrade gives 8K capability and dual native ISO (of course, market positioning and processing capability may or may not be available).

After the release of GH5, a firmware brought 6K shooting capability.

Hot boots, hot boots. The structure of boot was originally defined on Leitz Fodis, but the so-called "heat" comes from the central contact, which uses electrical signals to trigger the accessories loaded on it, usually flashlights, to complete the function.

So in addition to the big head of the fuselage, another point that people care about is hot boots.

Although in essence, the hot shoe interfaces on the market are all from the provisions of ISO5 18, the extra contacts outside the center define a self-supporting logical flash system.

At present, Leica, Sigma and Panasonic actually have their own set.

Leica is "unprincipled" because the origin and cooperative development of machines often follow the original design; In terms of manufacturing, it is also related to Nissin. The following models have different hot boots:

At present, Panasonic is using a hot shoe that can be interchanged with Olympus. This hot shoe was revised on 20 14 at the latest.

Although some people may think so, the definition of hot boots is not part of the 43-bayonet specification. The compatible flash on Taobao will be called M43.

Will Panasonic bring their hot boots to the L system machine? Can Olympus benefit from it?

Sigma's hot boots are defined on its own fuselage.

Because of X3' s applicability to natural scenery, perhaps Sigma's flash sales may not be so ideal?

Sony has developed in Quan Huafu for five years, and it has benefited more from the progress of the image sensor itself than from the progress of the camera design-which is a good thing and a bad thing. Usually we choose the achievement with the greatest progress at one time, and the achievement of Sony Semiconductor is obviously dazzling; In contrast, the rhythm of camera design itself is lacking, and more people may choose the model of α7 series, and then cooperate with Sigma or Canon or Leica M lens.

Canon and Nikon embarked on the road of non-reversal at 20 12 and 20 1 1 respectively, but EOS M and 1 series, perhaps the latter gained more for Nikon; But the fact is that EF-M still has a market, but the 1 series has been closed. In this September, EOS R and Z appeared. Although they came five years late, it's better than never, isn't it?

Three pillars, the best script

But these "second-line" and "non-mainstream" groups obviously don't like this script.

Maybe after many years, the situation will recover, and L may be the winner.

Judging from the current situation, Sigma, Leica and Panasonic are not camera companies that are good at computational photography. Will they promote the development of photography and surpass traditional optics in the new era?

Olympus?

Olympus can be said to be the mainstay of camera design.

But trapped in a single battlefield of M43.
