Magic Greenock

Glenorrchy, a remote town with only 300 people, if it weren't for New Zealand director Peter? Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit were filmed here. Like many small towns in New Zealand, it will silently guard its beauty without being known. Today, the Lord of the Rings town has become a household name, attracting a large number of "Lord of the Rings" fans to make a pilgrimage here every year.

Driving on the "most beautiful highway in New Zealand"

Greenwich is located on the north bank of Lake Wakatip, only 45 minutes' drive from Queenstown, New Zealand. There are regular buses between Queenstown and Greenwich every day. The road from Queenstown to Greenwich is known as "the most beautiful self-driving road in New Zealand" and one of the "top ten most beautiful self-driving roads in the world".

Before I came to New Zealand, I carefully read the Right-handed National Traffic Driving Rules, New Zealand Crossing Around the Island and New Zealand Crossing Around the Island Driving Rules, and made notes. Naturally, I am full of confidence. However, in the face of the steep roads and fast speed in New Zealand, I "consciously" chose to sit in the co-pilot seat, specializing in sightseeing and chatting, so that I could enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way wholeheartedly.

Many raiders use the word "middle-earth temperament" when describing the beautiful scenery of the road from Queenstown to Greenock. There are many observation platforms along the highway to facilitate the parking of passing vehicles. Some places have also set up sightseeing trails, where visitors can enjoy the lakes and mountains at close range. Lake Wakatibo is blue, and the grass on the shore is a little yellow, but the flowers are still in bloom.

Seven Trees by Greenoch

Greenoch is called "Hengdian in New Zealand". It used to be a "summer campsite" for the indigenous Maori of New Zealand to go to the west coast to look for green jade. After 1860, European colonists came here. They graze sheep, cut down trees and mine ore. It used to be very lively here. Now, Grinoch has developed a series of tourism activities related to the theme of the film, such as hiking in the beech jungle, exploring by inflatable boats and jet boats in the valley, riding horses in the paradise valley and watching helicopters on Ensilao Mountain.

There is a section of gravel road from Greenwich to Paradise Ranch, which does great damage to the tires. The insurance company will not pay for this kind of accident. At the suggestion of the tourism planner, we booked group tickets in advance and participated in three activities: inflatable boat adventure, jungle adventure and visit to Paradise Ranch with tourists from Queenstown.

Listen, it's still early. Let's go and see the trestle and the "Seven Trees" first. A couple on the trestle is taking a wedding dress, and the photographer motioned for us to wait a moment. So we went to see Seven Trees. This scenic spot is named after seven trees that grow in the water. Because of its peculiar shape, it is very popular with photographers, similar to the "tree" on Lake Wanaka. However, my daughter counted back and forth and there were nine trees. Looking at her puzzled face, I joked that from the perspective of development, it is not excluded that two trees have happily "joined" in.

Unfortunately, I failed to capture its beauty.

The pilot of jet skis is very cool, carrying a boatload of people to do a 360-degree rotation, which is thrilling. Land drivers make a 360-degree U-turn between the sand and gravel on the river beach, which makes me understand why local drivers in New Zealand rarely slow down in corners: how can they care about that corner when they are used to extreme sports?

Hiking in the virgin forest of beech seems a bit perfunctory. A tour guide from China just took us for thousands of meters to see those big trees and some traps placed under them. This is probably the disadvantage of traveling with a group. Most of the tour guide's thoughts are on encouraging tourists to shop.

Not all people who live in Paradise Ranch are happy people.

The name "Paradise" Valley comes from the fact that it is the easiest place to see Paradise Duck (a native duck in New Zealand) in New Zealand. The road leading to Paradise Ranch in Greenock Town is a gravel road on the river beach, which is bumpy all the way. From time to time, the tour guide pointed to a place and told us which scene of which movie was shot here, which attracted tourists to exclaim.

This is the snow-capped mountain that The Lord of the Rings's expedition climbed, the highest peak of Lake Wakatip Valley-Mount Ernslau.

The most famous building of Paradise Ranch is a century-old building with a white tile and green roof, which is called "Paradise Post Station". It is said that it was built by an Englishman named Joseph. The young rich second generation left his fiancee to travel around the world, trying to find a place most like heaven. Five years later, he found a paradise ranch in New Zealand and built a mansion here. He excitedly wrote to tell his fiancee to go to New Zealand and spend the rest of his life with him in this paradise. He didn't wait for the letter from his fiancee. What came late was a letter from his father, which said, "Son, your fiancee has been my wife for five years since you left home." Paradise was found, but there was no guy to spend the rest of my life with. Desperate young people sold the "Paradise Post Station" and moved into the nearby forest, where they died alone.

Even in heaven, there may be a sad person alive. Why not cherish everything in front of you?
