Jinan Art School is a public art school in Jinan City established with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. Its predecessor was Jinan Zhengyi Middle School founded in 1913. The school has a high school department, a vocational school department, and a technical secondary school department. It is a famous school in Qilu with a long history of running schools. The school follows the guiding ideology of "using art to carry morality, using art to promote intelligence, and using art to lead body".

In its nearly 100-year history, Zhengyi Middle School has experienced the transformation from a private middle school to a public ordinary middle school and then to a vocational technical secondary school. This is rare in the history of education in Jinan. "In 1956, the private Zhengyi Middle School was converted into a public one and renamed Jinan No. 17 Middle School. All school staff enjoy the same treatment as public middle schools.

Perhaps Zhengyi Middle School advocated "education without distinction" when it was first founded. "Because of this, in the 1980s, the state encouraged the development of vocational education, and Zhengyi Middle School, which was renamed Jinan No. 17 Middle School, began to focus on developing vocational education. In May 1985, it was renamed Jinan No. 1 Vocational Secondary Vocational School and became the Jinan No. 1 Vocational Secondary School. It was even the first vocational secondary school in Shandong Province.

In April 1998, the school was approved by the Provincial Education Commission to establish Jinan Art Middle School. In 2005, Jinan Art School merged with the Vocational College and Jinan Art Middle School to form Jinan Art. School.

Facility construction:

The school is located in the scenic Jinjiling, adjacent to Qianfo Mountain. The school has a teaching building, a laboratory building, a large dance training room, a computer room, and a speech training room. Rooms, multimedia classrooms, painting studios, piano rooms, electric piano rooms, vocal music classrooms, etc.

The school has added another million yuan of teaching equipment, and the school library’s special collections store a large number of rare books. With the joint efforts of the entire school's faculty and staff, the school has also won the titles of "Jinan City Advanced Unit for Spiritual Civilization", "Jinan City Advanced Unit for Health", "Jinan City Moral Education Standardized School", "Jinan City Military and Civilian Excellent Construction" Civilized unit".
