Shandong University of Arts belongs to two universities.

Shandong Art College was founded in 1958, located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city surrounded by famous springs. It is a university jointly established by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and has the right to award master's degrees in five first-class disciplines under the art category. It is the project construction unit that was awarded the doctor's degree in Shandong Province from 2017 to 2023.

In recent years, the school has successively won national performance awards such as the "Five One Project" of spiritual civilization construction, the National Art Exhibition, the Flying Award of Chinese TV Series, the Golden Bell Award of China Music, the Lanting Award of China Calligraphy, the Lotus Award of China Dance, the Mei Lanfang Gold Award of Chinese Peking Opera, the National Dance Exhibition, the China Campus Drama Festival, and the "Learning from Beijing Competition" of CCTV.

The school has been accelerating the pace of internationalization, signed friendly exchange agreements with 28 universities in Australia, the United States, France, Russia, South Korea, Japan and other countries, and carried out a series of exchanges and cooperation in academic exchanges, teacher exchanges, student exchanges and art exhibitions.
