What is your review of Venom (2018 movie)?
Venom (2018) is one of the most important movies of the 21st century.
It is truly one of the smartest and most advanced works of fiction ever done by mankind: adapting one of the greatest Chinese comic works of all time, "Kill Sha Sha", and improving its quality. Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" is one of humanity's most sensitive works of art.
You see, just like Kill la Kill, it features:
Superpowered aliens that people wear to increase their powers.
Organizations that want to use these aliens to occupy the earth.
A rap song that accurately describes the emotions and feelings of the protagonist.
Strong woman with tinted glasses working as the main villain.
The fact that the main villain wears an alien suit is contrary to what the hero wears.
But none of that matters, unless you consider the film's presentation, which was a homage to Tommy Wiseau's "Room."
Like Room, Venom (2018):
The characters live in San Francisco, California.
Visually stunning photography and lighting.
A majestic and haunting score.
Editing in an engaging style.
Excellent performances from a top-notch cast, with performances that range from hilarious to sad to dazzling, and a performance so good that Topher Grace's previous take on Spider-Man is... Everything the character does overshadows - Man 3.
"You're trash, Brock."
-Peter "The Human-Spider" Pike, "Spider-Man 3"
Most importantly, "Venom" ” (Venom, 2018) has a powerful and thought-provoking story.
Venom (2018) uses Hell and the Room as the backbone of the story, a bread-and-butter story about a man, a pathetic loser and (in In the film's own words) the story of a "cat" named Eddie Brock. Star Trek's Tom Hardy?: He tries to fix his own life by fixating the lives of others, especially the homeless in San Francisco. Eddie is rewarded when one of his friends sends him the titular Venom (also portrayed by Hardy), also a loser and "cat."
To defeat two of cinema's greatest villains since Steppenwolf? in Justice League (2017): Carlton Drake and fight him through the third act Allied Nazis, these two social outcasts must come together to strengthen themselves through interdependence and "synchronicity."
The film takes its sweet time from the Brock-Venom dynamic in order to show us who Drake and Riot are, what their goals are, what they believe and how they will affect the plot. Drake is essentially the Elon Musk of the Spider-Man cinematic universe, and he desperately wants to free humanity from problems that despite all his wealth and power he can't solve, like climate change and overpopulation.
To achieve these impossible goals, Drake is forced to team up with another extremist, Riot, the film's other main antagonist. Like Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, Insurrection has a hero's journey, taking him from scene to scene and spending precious screen time showing us what he's like. every moral lesson learned and taught to Carlton Drake when they team up for the film's climax.
As our down-on-his-luck main heroes had to contend with these adversaries who ultimately wanted to keep Earth's population safe, viewers were torn between who they wanted to win and who ultimately emerged victorious: these Lovable losers Eddie Brock and Venom, or these good guys, Carlton Drake and Riot, who ultimately want whoever is best for them something.
The film is not only powerful in its storyline, but also in its presentation of its progressive narrative themes.
Throughout the film, viewers watch Eddie and Venom's relationship evolve from a "love-hate" relationship to one filled with love and respect. When Eddie was forced to separate from Venom, the latter decided that like Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man 2, he couldn't live without his one true love. Venom is reunited with Eddie through the ownership of a dog and Eddie's fiancée Annie Weing (portrayed by Michelle Williams of Oz: The Great and Famous fame), and the two become affectionate towards each other Hugs and kisses, becoming in sync again.
By showing this relationship between Brooke and Venom, Columbia Pictures has accomplished what Marvel Studios was unwilling to do: show the first gay kiss in a superhero movie. Venom (2018) is already bolder than so-called progressive films like Captain Marvel and Black Panther, achieving what they never achieved.
This is why Venom (2018) is one of the most important movies of the 21st century.
