History of Hatoyama Island
Originally under the jurisdiction of Ryukyu Kingdom, after the Meiji Restoration in Japan, Ryukyu was incorporated into the territory. From 1945 to 1972, it was ruled by the United States, and then the United States handed over the island to Japan.
Because there are many pigeons on the island, it is also called Hatema. The island has a long history, and there are identified and excavated relics in the central forest, but there are few farmland. In Wang Fu's time, people on the island once took a boat to the other side of Xibiao Island to farm.
