What is the China Watch Award?

The Huabiao Award is the highest honor "Government Award" for China films.

The Huabiao Award is the full name of the outstanding film award of the government, and it is also called the three major awards of China film with the Golden Rooster Award and Hundred Flowers Award. It is also inevitable that the stars will shine at the ceremony.

The China Film Watch Award is the highest award in China film industry. Its trophy is made of a huabiao model in front of Tiananmen Square. The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television evaluates all kinds of films completed in the previous year every year. Its predecessor is the Excellent Film Award of the Ministry of Culture, which is selected once a year. The first evaluation was in 1957.

After an interruption of 22 years, the award will continue once a year from 1979. From 65438 to 0985, the Film Bureau of the Ministry of Culture was placed under the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television, and it was renamed the Excellent Film Award of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television. 1986 and 1987, 1989 and 1990 were merged, and the current name starts from 1994. After the formal reform of the Ministry of Culture in 2005, China Watch Award, Flying Award and Golden Rooster Award were held in odd years. The Hundred Flowers Award and Golden Eagle Awards are held every two years.

The China Film Huabiao Award is the China Film Government Award, which reflects the enthusiastic encouragement and strong support of the party and the state for the film industry.
