Is Cangzhou, Hebei Province the hometown of martial arts?

Cangzhou is known as the "hometown of martial arts". Cangzhou Wushu originated in Sui and Tang Dynasties and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. For thousands of years, Cangzhou Wulin has gathered elites and heroes, forming a strong martial arts folk custom. There are as many as 52 kinds of categories and boxing equipment originated or circulated in Cangzhou, accounting for 40% of the national 129 categories and boxing equipment. It is one of the cradles of China Wushu. From 65438 to 0992, Cangzhou was named "the hometown of martial arts" by the State Sports Commission, becoming the first prefecture-level city in China to receive this honor.

"There is Tai Chi in literature to secure the world, and there is Octagonal Skill in martial arts to achieve greatness", which is the praise of predecessors for Tai Ji Chuan and Octagonal Boxing, which are deeply loved by the masses. The founder of Bajiquan is from Mengcun, Cangzhou.

Cangzhou martial arts masters have won many battles with foreign boxing champions and won honors for the Chinese people. 1903, Wang Ziping, the "King of Divine Power" in Cangzhou, defeated the boxing champions of the United States, Britain and France in Shanghai, and Qi Baishi, a famous Chinese painter, gladly wrote "Fighting tigers in Nanshan, driving dragons and dumplings out of deep ponds" as a gift.

Wang Ziping, one of the top ten masters in the late Qing Dynasty, is as famous as Huo Yuanjia, Wang Wu, Yanzi, Du, the master of sea lanterns, and Dong Haichuan, the founder of Bagua Palm.

Cangzhou Boxers have made positive contributions to the development of China Wushu. In the Republic of China 17 (1928), when Zhang Zhijiang, the general of Cangzhou National Army, was the director of the Central National Art Museum, he strongly advocated strengthening the body against aggression and saving the country and people. Nearly 100 people from Cangzhou entered the library to teach for further study.

In a word, Cangzhou has an indissoluble bond with Wushu. If you really like martial arts, you have to pass yourself first. We also hope that you can become a figure in the history of martial arts in the future. Hehe, work hard, buddy!
