What foreign consulates are there in Harbin?

1, Russian Consulate General

Originally in the big stone house of the Middle East Railway Bureau, it was moved out and changed to several places. Fortunately, these buildings are still standing: the VIP building of Longmen Building in Hong Jun Street, nangang district; 1909 moved to the Museum of Harbin Institute of Technology on Company Street; 19 1 1 moved to No.22 Lianfa Street.

2. U.S. Consulate General

The museum was once located in Mai Street, Xinshe (now between Dongdazhi Street and Huayuan Street in Nikolai Gogol Street). This unique duck-billed roof building has disappeared. In the 1920s, the American Consulate in Harbin moved to the present No.291Dongdazhi Street (between Jilin Street and Ashe River Street).

3. Consulate General of Japan

The earliest museum site is located at No.27 Nangang New Commercial Street (now the location of Gogol Avenue Garden Primary School). The consulate has a police station basement, a torture room and a cell. It is an important evidence of Japan's invasion of China. But at 200 1, the original building of Garden Primary School was demolished.

4. French Consulate

The location of the museum has changed several times, and now the location of No.3 Yiyuan Street is relatively certain. Later, the French Consulate moved to Qiqihar Street (later No.39 Longjiang Street), but this building has also been lost. From 1925 to 193 1, the French consulate is the consulate general, and the most sensational incident it participated in was probably the Mattel kidnapping case.

5. British Consulate

This building was originally built at No.56 Dazhi Street in Nangang, located at the intersection of Dongdazhi Street and Tieling Street, and has now disappeared. In 1930s, the British Consulate moved to Station Street, now it is 69 Hong Jun Street, and now it is a wedding photography shop.
