How to master the golden section composition method
The famous paintings we saw, such as Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and The Birth of Venus, are also in line with the golden ratio, and the golden ratio has also been verified by history.
There are many ways to express the golden ratio in photographic composition. The most commonly used compositions are "golden spiral" and "golden nine squares".
Golden spiral
The golden spiral uses Fibonacci numbers as the length to form a square. A series of diagonal points on the square will form a path to guide the viewer to appreciate the picture in the most natural way.
Gold jiugongge
The golden nine-square grid looks like a three-point composition method, but there is actually a very important difference between the two. The three-point composition method divides the picture into three equal parts, namely1:1,while the golden nine-square grid is divided by 1: 0.6 18: 1, and it is closer to form a dividing line in the middle of the picture.
Many friends learned the golden section composition and looked at the previous photos. They all thought that if the golden section method was used at that time, the photos would be better. So when we realize this, we can start the second step of remedy. At this time, we need the help of photoshop, the later software that we often contact.
In the clipping function of photoshop, we can find two clipping curves: golden ratio (golden nine squares) and golden spiral (golden spiral). For example, the following picture was taken by me before, but I was not very satisfied with the original picture, so I adjusted it with a golden spiral.
Of course, there is absolutely no right or wrong in composition. The golden section is just a tool. It is important to apply it flexibly to various scenes and not be limited by a single picture. Constant experiment and innovation are the most important factors.
