What should the funeral home do with the ashes that the funeral home does not accept?

Unclaimed bodies shall be announced by the civil affairs department on the public network of the department and the bulletin board of the funeral parlour. If it is still unclaimed within 60 natural days from the date of announcement, the funeral home may dispose of the remains. After the unclaimed remains are cremated, the ashes shall be kept for 2 years from the date of cremation. If the ashes are still unclaimed after the expiration of the preservation period, the funeral home shall be responsible for handling the ashes.

With reference to Article 8 of the Measures for Handling Unclaimed Bodies in Guangzhou, the remains that meet the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 2 of these Measures shall be published by the civil affairs department on the public network of the civil affairs department and the external bulletin board of the funeral parlour. If it is still unclaimed within 60 days from the date of announcement, it shall be handled by the funeral home.

According to Article 11 of the Measures for Handling Unclaimed Bodies in Guangzhou, after the unclaimed remains are cremated, the ashes shall be kept for 2 years from the date of cremation. Referring to Article 2 of the Measures for Handling Unclaimed Bodies in Guangzhou, these Measures shall apply to the handling of unclaimed remains within the scope of this Municipality. The term "unclaimed remains" as mentioned in these Measures refers to the remains in the following two situations within the administrative area of this Municipality, and no family members, units or other organizations have gone through the funeral formalities for them after the expiration of the announcement:

Name and identity unknown;

(two) the name and identity are clear, but the family members, units or other organizations do not handle the funeral procedures for them within fifteen natural days after the expiration of the anti-corrosion period.

According to Article 3 of the Measures for Handling Unclaimed Bodies in Guangzhou, medical institutions shall issue medical certificates of residents' death (inference) if they die in their own medical institutions or other places.

The medical institution shall notify the local public security organ for inspection, evaluation, photographing and registration, and the opinions that the public security organ should pay attention to shall still be issued by the medical institution with the Medical Certificate of Residents' Death (Reasoning).

(2) The corpse that died normally has obvious rotting symptoms, such as swelling, foul smell, swollen tongue and prominent eyes.

(3) The public security organ has signed an unclaimed opinion;

(4) Relevant laws and regulations require immediate cremation.
