The air quality in the five districts of Beijing is moderately polluted. How should people go out to protect themselves?
The Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center recently issued a notice saying that due to the backflow of floating dust from the south, the primary pollutant in Beijing is PM10, and the five districts of Xicheng, Shunyi, Changping, Yanqing and Tongzhou are moderately polluted. People who go out need to take relevant protective measures:
1. People who go out must first wear masks.
Because of moderate pollution. Harmful substances will be released in the air due to haze, so wear a mask when going out to prevent the inhalation of harmful substances. Relevant studies have reported that the higher the concentration of PM in haze, the higher the death rate of skin cells, and the number of patients with allergic dermatitis will increase. Therefore, patients with allergic dermatitis are best not to go out on hazy days. At the same time, when matching the mask, you must wear it according to the instructions for use. When wearing it, you must completely cover your eyes, nose, and mouth, and keep the mask close to the face. The better the sealing, the better the protective effect. In addition, according to national standards, the protection level of masks is divided into four levels from low to high: level D, level C, level B, and level A, which correspond to different air quality conditions. Level A corresponds to "severe pollution" and is used when the PM2.5 concentration reaches 500 ug/m3; Level D corresponds to "moderate pollution and below" and is applicable when the PM2.5 concentration is less than or equal to 150 ug/m3. Depending on the pollution situation, choose different mask types.
2. In moderate haze weather, professional doctors advise everyone not to wear contact lenses when going out.
Because experts believe that contact lenses are like vacuum cleaners for particulate matter, which will stick to bacteria and viruses in the haze, eventually leading to eye allergies or infections such as keratitis and other eye diseases. So we try to wear framed glasses when we go out on hazy days. If you really have no choice but to wear contact lenses when going out. Then, when the eyes feel uncomfortable, we should rinse the contact lenses with contact eye drops in time, and then use a towel soaked in warm water to compress the eyes for 10 to 15 minutes to take good care of our own eyes.
3. On heavy haze days, choose to wear bright clothes when going out.
When we go out, whether we are walking or driving, due to the smog and the dark sky, wearing light-colored clothes cannot serve as a warning. We need to wear bright-colored clothes, such as red, which can improve Our traffic is safe.
4. Try to reduce outdoor time as much as possible.
In the face of moderate haze days, we must try to reduce outdoor activity time or working time. Some insignificant work or activities can be temporarily canceled or changed. If you go out for outdoor exercise, then the exercise should be cancelled, because the harm to the human body in moderate haze is far greater than the benefits of exercise.
